Alan King’s love of his horse holds no bounds, and the delight was there for all to see when his remarkable servant Edwardstone returned to winning form when winning the Grade 2 Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton Park in January.
The 12-year-old has long time been a stable favourite as he took Alan to the top table when landing the Grade 1 Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham in 2022 - one of the trainer's 34 of his winners at the highest level.
At his Barbury Castle Stables in Wroughton, King enthusiasm remains undiminished in a stellar career that has seen him send out 1731 winners over Jumps and the search is still on for the next potential star.
The classy mare Charisma Cat may eventually fill that gap and there is plenty of potential in Alan’s team. He kindly discussed his horses with Tony Elves of attheraces.com, as he currently sits on 25 winners and £431,486 in prize money this season.
