He ran well in the Chester Cup and the plan is to go for the Ascot Stakes Handicap - a race he has run in for the past two years and won it last year. He is good old horse, and I would like a bit of rain between now and Ascot but I don't think we will get it.

He ran appallingly at York, and we could find nothing wrong with him but he ran much better at Doncaster last weekend when finishing second. He should go and win if we can find the right race for him. He wants a mile and a half to a mile and three quarters.

He is having a summer holiday after running well at Lingfield and then disappointing at York. He had been on the go for a long time and will have a break and come back for the autumn. He will probably have a couple of runs on the Flat before going novice hurdling.

She won well at Lingfield then was a good fifth in a Group 3 race at York in May. We are desperately trying to find a little bit of black type with her, but she is very ground dependent and is much better on soft ground. We might have to wait for the autumn with her.

I was a little disappointed with him at Goodwood the other day as he came there travelling very well. He still finished fourth, but he ran in checkpieces and we might just switch and out a visor on him.

Trainer says

He was very good at Epsom on Saturday, and we were really pleased with that performance. I don't think we will go to Ascot, and we will probably wait for something like the Old Newton Cup but we will see. He is back on track and William Buick who rode him at the weekend definitely thinks we should definitely stick at a mile and a half with him. There are some decent races to be won with him later in the season.

He is heading for the Northumberland Plate and he ran ok but didn't really handle the soft ground at Sandown the other day. He wasn't disgraced and he is a much better horse on the AW so the Northumberland Plate would be the race for him.

He has been running well and was a good second at York last month. He will have couple of entries at Royal Ascot and will be put in the mile and six on Tuesday and also the mile and a half later in the week. We will have a good look at the weather and he would want goodish ground or ground with a bit of ease in it.

Trainer says

He is difficult to predict but he is in good order, and he heads back to Royal Ascot for the Duke Of Edinburgh. We have to ride him cold and hope they go hard in front - last year it came right, and all the splits came his way. We will see but he is in good form at home.

He will go for the mile and a half handicap - he was a good second at the Royal eeting last year and he was a good second at Chelmsford a few weeks ago. I think the step up in trip on the Flat will suit him.

Obviously we hope Gold Cup for him, but I wouldn't run him on quick ground. We were delighted with his comeback in the Ormonde Stakes and he does have an option in the Northumberland Plate if we thought Ascot was too firm for him. He is a much better horse with ease in the ground and we were obviously delighted with his success in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot last autumn.

He's a grand old boy and he had no luck in running in the Chester Cup and couldn't get out and finished full of running. Tom (Marquand) was very happy with him and if the ground is safe, he will go for the Queen Alexandra Stakes.

We think he is very fast, and he won well on his reappearance this season at Wolverhampton. He had a little hiccup which just held me up with him, but he is back in full work and I would hope he would be out in the next couple of weeks. I think he is a six-furlong horse.

He got his head in front last week at Nottingham and we were pleased with that. He is due to carry a penalty at Haydock in the three-runner mile and six handicap on Wednesday. Hopefully, he will keep progressing.

He is a two-year-old we have always like and he did well at Goodwood on Friday evening. We will see how he is but there is a possibility he could go to Royal Ascot and we will probably look at the Coventry Stakes on Tuesday with him.
