ALILEO is unlikely to be a fancy price but he sets the standard on his recent near miss over an extended 2m at Clonmel and is expected to attract support once again (beaten favourite on each of his last three runs). The main danger may be the consistent Gordon Elliott representative Crown Theatre, who was outpaced when second over 2m at Tramore last time and may appreciate this step up in trip. Noel Meade's newcomer Brazen Bequest is also worth a market check.

There should be more to come from Fearachain over hurdles bearing in mind his bumper ability, but in a race lacking strength in depth, it would be no real surprise were Alileo and Crown Theatre to dominate. Neither find much for pressure, but the latter is marginally preferred.

Ultra Light is considered the main danger and looks well weighted relative to his chase form, as he is 14lb lower than when scoring over fences at Perth last month. FORMAL BID left behind a couple of moderate hurdles efforts when second on his chase bow at Fairyhouse last week and is expected to build on that effort with the benefit of that experience now behind him. This stiffer test is also expected to suit Gordon Elliott's seven-year-old, who benefits from the assistance of Paul Carberry in the plate this afternoon. Chase debutant Shershewill has won here over hurdles and merits consideration along with dropped-in-trip Limerick fifth Darwins Theory.

Luddsdenene gave his supporters no sort of run for their money when falling at the first at Tipperary last time and is still winless over fences from eight previous runs. Preference is for IMPERIAL JOEY, who has seemed to find the drop back to 2m1f against him the last twice and may improve for this stiffer test. Personal Shopper was running with credit over fences during the summer and is another to consider now returning from a three month break.
