Ikorodu Road lost his pilot last time but showed enough on his chasing bow to be considered while On Borrowed Wings is another good hurdler who could go well first time over fences. Preference is for OTAGE DE BRION, who recorded a double in the spring including a success by 24 lengths in this grade at Bangor. After a summer break, he looks to be running back into winning form.

HIBIKI, disappointing on his chasing debut last time, should be able to return to winning ways back over timber and dropped to this grade for the first time. He ran in a Grade 3 Hurdle at Haydock on his penultimate start and has won twice and been placed five times in 13 starts over timber. He looks far too good for these rivals. Tri Nations was a game winner in this grade last time and looks the one for the forecast but War Party and Plumpton selling winner Musashi could be thereabouts.

Cantabilly's 2m 3f win at Exeter this month was his first success since landing this race in 2007. He runs off the same mark here and must be given every chance if really back to his best. Le Corvee was a winner over 2m 1f here in July but may have too much weight now, a problem that may also afflict Market Rasen scorer Topenhall. Doncaster winner HIDDEN KEEL also looks to have plenty of weight but he's open to further improvement after just four runs over timber and earns the vote today.

Folie A Deux, who landed a double at Uttoxeter in the summer, wasn't far away in third off this mark at Worcester last month and should be in the shake-up while Emergency Exit, a Wincanton winner in January, was let down by his jumping next time at Perth but has claims if producing a clear round. However, preference is for SUNDAY CITY, a winner in this grade at Perth in July. He's 12lb worse off now but his latest effort in a Listed chase at Market Rasen suggests he's the one to be on here.

Hard to rule any of these out but it's worth taking a chance on MAM RATAGAN putting in a clear round. He broke his duck over fences last month with an impressive 2m 4f win here and scored with even more in hand over 2m at Ffos Las last time. His bold jumping style can get him into trouble but he might still be improving. Aintree winner Quito Du Tresor is in fine form at present but might be held at the weights now while Marodima has come down the weights of late but might find a couple too strong here.
