SYLLOGISM has twice finished a close second in similar contests around here, being caught on the line last time, and should be capable of making it third time lucky tonight. After two wins in better company, Cayman Colada has gone off the boil but looks a threat here, dropped in class. Doublenodouble won in this grade last time over six and a half furlongs but has never tackled this trip before.
It's hard to see any of these getting the better of PRINCE CHARMING. He romped home in a $15k claimer over 6f here last time and has less on his plate tonight. Montecore and Dp The Facilitator have both run well at this level and can fight out the minor honours.
Ali Bint Dumaani has finished second twice in similar contests here of late - leading home Hope To Win the first time - and must be given a chance. Forest Mystic takes a bag drop in class and holds a chance but preference is for BIG CITY MAMMA, who finished well in front of her when they were second and sixth in a $20k maiden claimer this month at Monmouth. That was the selection's debut effort and, granted normal improvement, she should take all the beating.
After a comprehensive maiden win over C&D, PUNISH finished second in a $75 stakes race over 7f here. This is considerably easier and, back over his winning distance, he will take all the beating. The consistent Cruzin With Cash looks the one for the exacta while Fifty Five Grand was second in this grade last time and can go close again.
MICHAEL'S TRIFECTA has produced two solid seconds in slightly stronger company at this venue and he should take a bit of beating eased in class and back up to 6f tonight. Bourbon And Branch and the vastly experienced Sonny's The One are feared most of the remainder.
Michaela's Candi won well over 6f here last time and, although she is taking a step up in grade tonight, she should go well once more. Unbridled Nunn comes into this in good heart and she should be thereabouts but LOVE IN THE HEIR is on a hat-trick and the manner in which she won last time suggested there could be more to come.
A bold bid will be expected from the Lake-trained duo Vesper and Bettern Biscuits and between them they should make a decent fist of things but BERENGARIA gets the nod. She has been performing with plenty of credit over a mile of late and the drop to this trip looks sure to suit so she can resume winning ways.
Spanish Luck is on a hat-trick and she looks sure to be there at the finish whilst Affluent Lady is also on a three-timer and must be on the shortlist. SOPHIE'S MEATBALL is not quite in the same form but she has been plying her trade at a higher level so she edges a tentative verdict in a wide open heat.
Mysterious Marissa is capable of much better than she showed last time and is considered a player along with L. A. Girl but the one to beat on this occasion is PARISH HILTON. She has won her last two over similar trips here and probably only needs to reproduce those efforts to complete the hat-trick tonight.
This represents an ease in class for ERIN'S GOLDEN STAR and she could take full advantage if resuming where she left off in August. Five Pesos is the major threat having bolted up in a track and trip heat on her penultimate start, but Scrimdetermination shouldn't be ruled out either.
