Verdict
Individual Race Printouts

El Beau made it 2-2 over timber when following up his C&D victory with a 2m1f success at Sedgefield in November. John Quinn's charge is expected to go well under a penalty but of more interest is John Ferguson's NH newcomer GALIZZI, an 88-rated turf performer for Michael Bell who now debuts for a new stable. Adrakhan took a forward step when second at Warwick last month and is also unlikely to be far away at the finish.

Marginal preference, however, is for CENTRAL FLAME, who has been outpaced over the extended 2m at Hexham recently and may appreciate this stiffer test now moving into handicap company. Course (2m) winner Endeavor looks worth another try at this trip, while Merchant Of Dubai, 4lb higher than his C&D second in November, has place possibilities too.

SMART RULER took a while to get the hang of things over hurdles but he has taken his form to a new level this winter, running out an impressive winner of a strong handicap hurdle over track and trip in November. A 7lb rise in he weights might not be enough to halt James Moffatt's charge and he can land this valuable prize. Gold Futures looked a horse to follow earlier in the year but he hasn't been seen since August and is entitled to need this on his return. Lightening Rod, Ruacana and Stephanie Frances are impossible to dismiss but it is hard to envisage Strongpoint repeating the heroics that saw him victorious in this contest 12 months ago.

Narrow preference is for WAKHAN who has been running well in defeat for some time. He looks well worth another try at this trip and this rates a good opportunity for him to break a frustrating sequence of placed efforts. Purcell's Bridge arrives with a similar profile given his solid recent form and is feared most. Just Awake came down at the first fence at this track last month but he should go well if none the worse for that mishap, while Or de Grugy isn't discounted for each-way purposes.

C&D winner Or de Grugy is weighted to strike if anywhere near his best on his reappearance, but preference is for Purcell's Bridge, who has done little wrong since opening his chasing account last spring, and will appreciate a return to this trip.
