The eye is immediately drawn to the in-form pair Ballyegan and Bredon Hill Lad, particularly the latter who has had several of these in arrears during his purple patch. Narrow preference, though, is for FOLLOW THE TRACKS who was beaten a neck by Sue Gardner's charge over the extended 2m5f here last month, keeping on dourly at the finish. Tony McCoy takes over for the first time and he can reverse the placings over this longer trip. Aroseforoscar and Nordic Nymph are capable of playing a part and enter calculations too.

Watch out for: Bredon Hill Lad (1)

The pair to concentrate on are Bredon Hill Lad and Nordic Nymph. Marginal preference is for the latter, who took a big step forward when scoring on handicap debut at Bangor and there's probably plenty more to come from this lightly-raced 6-y-o. Follow The Tracks, who made a real race of it with Bredon Hill Lad here last month, and Snowball also merit respect.

Southfield Royale romped to an easy victory in a Market Rasen bumper on debut in June and backed that effort up with a hurdles bow victory over 2m4f at Fontwell in November. Neil Mulholland's charge is expected to go well, despite carrying a penalty, but marginal preference is for BRIGADIER MILLER. The selection was having his first run since 2012 when fourth at Huntingdon last time and could come on for that run, while the return to this venue could unlock some improvement in More Buck's, who struck in a 2m1f bumper here in April and is entitled to build on his recent Plumpton effort over timber.

Watch out for: Southfield Royale (1)

Southfield Royale is accorded a great deal of respect, despite his penalty, while Brigadier Miller and More Buck's are both open to plenty of improvement. EXMOOR MIST will no doubt prove popular as he bids to supplement his recent course victory over 2m1f. Victor Dartnall's charge ran on strongly last time and this stiffer test is expected to unlock immediate improvement as he bids to defy a subsequent 7lb rise. Ascendant ran well for a long way over a similar trip at Lingfield last time out and has place claims along with C&D winner Thundering Home and recent Uttoxeter scorer Last Shadow. The main danger, however, may be Harry Fry's handicap debutant, Assam Black.

A race that revolves around WHISPER, a Grade 1 winner over timber at Aintree last term, and whether he's capable of transferring that obvious ability over fences on his chasing/seasonal bow. Should Nicky Henderson's charge fail to live up to expectations, Ceasar Milan may be the one to profit. He'll need to better his latest effort at Newbury to figure but is entitled to improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces. Flementime and Here's Herbie have both run well here on the hurdles track and could feasibly finish in the shake-up.

Watch out for: Ceasar Milan (2)

Whisper was one of the stars of last season, winning the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival before landing a Grade 1 at Aintree in April. It would be a disappointment if he couldn't make a winning debut over fences despite the trip being shorter than ideal. Flementime and Ceasar Milan both left plenty to work on on their chasing bows and can do better here, the latter of particular interest.
