Richard Hannon has won the past two runnings of this maiden, introducing the classy Best Terms 12 months ago, and although nothing special on pedigree, LUCKY SUIT is clearly showing enough in her work to have an entry at this stage of the season and it would be no surprise to see her open her account at the first time of asking. Birdie Queen is another newcomer of note but the selection may have most to fear from Vestibule, who was fifth to Baddilini on her debut here a week ago.
Vestibule and Bheleyf are likely to improve, but Best Terms made a winning debut for the Hannon yard in this 12 months ago and it would be no surprise if Lucky Suit did likewise.

The booking of Ryan Moore for CREW CUT looks a tell-tale sign as Jeremy Gask's gelding makes his seasonal debut. He showed steady improvement throughout last term, finishing the year with a narrow defeat over today's 6f trip at Wolverhampton in December, and there should be even more to come. Rafaaf was also in good heart when last sighted and resumes off just a 1lb higher perch than when a close third at Nottingham in October. Of those with an edge in terms of race-fitness, Ghostwing and Earlsmedic are considered major contenders.
Rafaaf was getting the hang of things when last seen and retains more scope than most to progress as a sprinter. He's taken to make a winning return at the expense of Crew Cut and Earlsmedic.

A fascinating three-year-old contest with a host of potential candidates. The Hills team are not averse to introducing a classy type on the all-weather and Dante/Derby entrant BASSETERRE looked a very smart prospect when scoring cosily on his debut at Lingfield in January. He could have got in lightly here on his handicap debut and might be one to follow in the coming months. Sir Michael Stoute's Carlisle winner Duke Of Firenze is entitled to have improved over the winter and promises to be well suited to the forecast conditions. Venetian View and Al Mahmeyah would not be surprise winners either.
Plenty of these are unexposed, none more so than Basseterre who made a winning debut at Lingfield in January. He looks to have been let in lightly on his handicap bow and is taken to get the better of Duke of Firenze and Venetian View.

Snow Hill and Knightly Escapade are both accorded the utmost respect on their returns to the fold but BROUGHTON SANDS looks the one to be on, providing the ground isn't too soft. A Lingfield maiden winner in February, she ran well from a wide draw in a big field on her turf debut over this C&D last month and looks worth another chance off the same mark tonight. Colinca's Lad was fairly impressive at Yarmouth but this represents a step up in class and he is considerably more exposed than most.
Snow Hill won with more in hand than the margins suggest at Haydock in September and can make a winning return under conditions which suit ideally. Knightly Escapade and Broughton Sands can chase the selection home.

FEARLESS DREAM is expected to have learnt a great deal from her debut outing at Goodwood last August and it will be fascinating to see which way she goes in the betting market on her return to action. Cape Samba also has experience to draw upon and having finished ninth to Top Offer at Newbury last term, she returned with a respectable runner-up effort at Wolverhampton last month. The biggest dangers to the selection, however, appear to be well-bred newcomers Almost Gemini and Biographer.
Fearless Dream represents last year's winning stable and there was enough promise in her debut at Goodwood last summer to suggest she can make a winning return to action. Sir Michael Stoute's pair Rye House and Opinion also look capable of much better this time round in a race where the betting will almost certainly be informative.

Question marks over plenty of these but NORDIC QUEST showed some promise when fourth over 1m1f at Wolverhampton on his second start last term. The drop back to 7f didn't do him much good when down the field on his seasonal return at Doncaster recently but he consequently goes handicapping with a very workable mark and this distance looks more up his street.
