Jason Maguire got a decent tune out of SIERRA VICTOR when second at Newcastle last month and considering that was the gelding's first outing since June last year, he is expected to come on appreciably for the run. Maguire keeps the ride and the assessor may have been a little hasty in dropping Rose Dobbin's charge 2lb in the ratings. Finbin and recent Sedgefield runner-up Sam Patch are considered the main dangers.
Fog Patches and Sam Patch are far less exposed than most of these over fences and look the pair to concentrate on, the first-named expected to improve markedly now having his stamina drawn out. Sierra Victor and Finbin complete the shortlist.

MELUA MAID has been hit with an 8lb hike in the handicap for winning over 2m6f at Sedgefield recently but that was only Sue Smith's point-to-point recruit's second start over regulation fences and the manner of her victory suggested she could cope with such a rise. The move up in distance is also expected to be right up her street. Shadow Boxer remains in decent heart and also steps up in trip after looking a shade outpaced over 2m5f at Carlisle. Pen Gwen, Beau Dandy and Sammy Spiderman are also entitled to be thereabouts at the finish.
Melua Maid improved markedly when making all for a decisive first win over fences at Sedgefield last month. She has few miles on the clock for her age and has sound prospects of defying a higher mark. Beau Dandy and Sammy Spiderman are others worth considering, while Quinder Spring is dangerously well treated if getting his act together.

CONSTANT CONTACT struggled in the hustle and bustle of a big-field valuable handicap at Aintree's Grand National meeting but the manner of his previous victory over Tuscan Gold at Hereford marked him down as a very capable novice. Further easing of the ground would be a slight concern for Donald McCain's gelding but he could simply prove too good. Heart Of Dubai also reverts from handicap company and although his form doesn't quite match that of the selection, he looks best of the rest. Navy List is a potential improver and looks a reasonable each-way alternative.
There's little depth to this contest, and it gives Constant Contact what looks a straightforward opportunity. Heart of Dubai is clear second best, although Navy List may leave a poor debut behind now tried in a tongue tie.

Saddle Pack continues on an upward curve but he was pushed all the way by the reopposing CARTERS REST at Carlisle earlier this month and the latter may be able to exact is revenge on marginally better terms and softer ground. Kilkenny All Star took full advantage of his dwindling handicap mark to score at Sedgefield recently and is still feasibly treated off a 6lb higher perch here, while The Thirsty Bricky also retains plenty of ability and is another expected to feature in the finish.
Or d'Oudairies has won over hurdles here and could be worth chancing having dropped to a potentially good mark. The hat-trick seeking Saddle Pack and recent Sedgefield 1-2 Kilkenny All Star and The Thirsty Bricky are just 3 dangers to note.

Rosairlie has run well on the Flat since scoring on her handicap hurdle debut at Hexham last month and she merits close consideration, but there's a strong suspicion conditions have gone against the daughter of Halling so preference is for RIVER DRAGON, who has done all his winning on soft ground. Only 4lb higher than when successful at Market Rasen on Boxing Day, he was last seen over hurdles when finishing third to Cheltenham/Aintree winner Attaglance and two subsequent efforts on the level have suggested he remains in excellent heart. Top-weight Crafti Bookie might be the best of the rest.
River Dragon is proven under these conditions, has some solid hurdles form to his name, and arrives on the back of a good effort on the Flat, so is taken to get the better of Quacity and Rosairlie.

This has the makings of a two-way battle, with ROSEMORE DEJA VU fancied to see off Belon Gale. The latter has some useful chase form in the book, despite not standing much racing over the years, but the selection, a newcomer to NH action, is less exposed and arrives on the back of a confidence-boosting victory in the point-to-point sphere. Anotherbuck and Emerald Destiny each have questions to answer.
Hunters don't come much weaker than this. Belon Gale is respected, despite his obvious shortcomings in recent times, but Rosemore Deja Vu is at least going the right way in points and looks the logical choice to make a winning start under Rules.

A strong market move for Donald McCain's point-to-point scorer Beeves would have to be taken seriously but without such insight, RONNIE RHINO appeals most. He delivered on the promise shown when third on his Doncaster debut to win in really good style at Carlisle last month and he'll be hard to contain if as effective on today's much softer ground. Green Flag also has a bumper win to his name, doing the job in good style on his NH bow at Hexham recently, and it's worth noting he handled heavy ground well when winning a point-to-point in January.
Green Flag and Ronnie Rhino are respected having already won in this sphere, but preference is for Beeves, who won a point in February and receives weight from that pair.
