PATSY CLINE showed her first signs of promise over hurdles when a staying-on fourth in a 2m maiden hurdle at Cork earlier this month and further improvement should see her in the shake-up this evening. Point-to-point winner Carrigeen Kariega was second at Clonmel last month and looks a major threat here having been tried in Grade 2 company at Fairyhouse recently. Castle Genie was beaten a long way in second on her hurdling debut at Tramore but that was an encouraging effort all the same.
An on-song What An Flyer would have major claims here, while Supreme Caroline will be a player if taking to hurdles. However, as things stand the one that makes most appeal is Carrigeen Kariega who will appreciate tackling this less exalted company after taking in a Grade 2 last time. Rare Benefit and potential improver Tukawhile are also high on the list.

DARA TANGO, a good-ground winner on the level in France, appreciated the return to a decent surface when third in a similar contest over C&D last month and there should be further improvement to come from Tony Martin's charge. Johnnys Legacy and Casimir Road have earned identical official ratings to the selection and the former is of particular interest judged on his staying-on sixth to Tabhachtach here on his penultimate start.
Casimir Road was better than the result suggests when third last time and should benefit from the likely emphasis on spped around here. Cyprusormilan and Daro Tango look the biggest threats.

GIMLI'S ROCK is rated 135 over hurdles and if he can perform to anywhere near that mark on his chasing debut then he will take plenty of beating. Byerley Bear has plenty of chasing experience and he could be the one to benefit if the selection fluffs his lines while Resolute Bay has struggled on each of his three starts over fences so far but still has time on his side and should not be overlooked here.
If the switch to fences and fitting of cheekpieces helps Gimli's Rock focus fully on the task at hand he will prove extremely difficult to beat. However, he clearly comes with risks attached and, with experience over fences to draw upon, preference is for Byerley Bear. A very tricky finale but it might be worth taking a chance on LASH IT ON. He has shown only glimmers of ability but he might have a bit more to offer and off a lowly mark of 84, might be capable of a big run here. Play The Wing performed with credit at Clonmel last time and she is entitled to make her presence felt here. Gold Cygnet also makes the shortlist whilst market confidence behind Bruff would be a big positive.
A really tightly contested handicap in which slight preference goes to Gold Cygnet who has dropped to an appealing mark. Fiery Oscar and In The Haven also make some appeal from a handicapping perspective and could go well.
