Donald McCain has his string in cracking order at the moment and he can land the opener today courtesy of INDIAN CASTLE. The five-year-old son of Dr Massini has improved in each of his three starts under Rules thus far and stepping up to 3m for the first time here will pose no problems whatsoever. Isla Pearl Fisher and Ballyben are closely matched on official figures and could be left to fight out minor honours, ahead of point-to-point scorer Lord Fox.

Indian Castle should relish this step up in trip, and can defy a penalty to score again. Isla Pearl Fisher is almost certainly better over fences, but may still be the one that gives Donald McCain's charge most to think about.

Lucinda Russell saddled the winner of this contest 12 months ago and she appears to have another decent chance with chasing debutant Kris Cross this time around, who showed a likeable attitude when striking over hurdles here 20 days ago, but SIVOLA DE SIVOLA should prove tough to beat. He is the highest rated of these over timber and certainly has the scope to make up into a useful chaser. Imperial Vic also merits consideration on his first spin over fences.

Watch out for: Kris Cross (4)

Fiddlers Reel jumped well to score over C&D last month, but he has to defy a penalty against several chasing debutants that were at least fairly useful over timber, with Imperial Vic the type to do particularly well in this sphere. He gets the vote, while recent course winner Kris Cross is another to bear in mind.

A consistent sort, there was plenty to like about his bronze medal finish over 2m4f at Ayr last month and he is entitled to improve for that first outing since August 2011.
