ABOUNDING has shaped well from two starts to date and with improvement likely, the Street Cry colt could take some stopping as he bids to shed his maiden status. Jack Va Vite and All Scheduled are others with genuine claims.
DANCE WITH JAMES continues to knock on the door in similar company and with a solid record at this track, a typically game effort could see her return to the winner's enclosure. Lil Carolina and Ms Mia can also get competitive.
Bold Maneuver is running well but preference is for CRAZY BEAR. The filly has shaped pleasingly since joining the Lawrence King yard and can land the spoils tonight. Tower Close is another to be wary of as she bids to land the hat-trick.
Casanova Jack, runner-up over C&D when last sighted, and Ready For Duty, who found the extended 5f an inadequate test last time, have place possibilities but ZORAN looks the one to be on. He's been campaigned around a route this year but is best over this trip, with seven of his twelve career victories coming over this distance.
In an open-looking affair a tentative vote goes to SISTER GERTRUDE, who arrives here looking for a hat-trick and, although now stepping up in grade, warrants the utmost respect in her current mood. Dancing Sparks and Well Equipped are others to consider.
CANAL STREET scored over C&D in October and would take all of the beating if running to a similar level of form here. Gordonryan, third over this track and trip latest, is feared most, while Dollar Mountain and Please Wait are also worthy of consideration.
SMALL PAIR returned to form with an emphatic success over a route at Charles Town last month. She's up slightly in class tonight but a repeat effort should be good enough to land the spoils here. L'Anch, a winner in this grade two starts ago, looks the danger but Ruth Wonders and Arrow Lake could go close.
It's difficult to see beyond BIG BOBBY Z for the answer to this. He's made good progress over his six starts, landing a $10k claimer in emphatic style over C&D last month. Dropped in class tonight, he should follow up. Stormy Past, Certain Secret and Cotton Hearted can fight out the minor honours.
