David Evans has landed this event three times in the last four years and can strike again with DREAMY CIARA. She stepped up on her debut effort to get off the mark at Wolverhampton last week and with further improvement likely, as well as the advantage of experience, she could take plenty of beating. Black Monk makes plenty of appeal on breeding and he is accorded the utmost respect on his debut. The market will be the best guide to what is expected of Yes Two and Frosted Off.
Black Monk is sure to be popular on debut for the Champion Trainer, but he has to give weight away to Dreamy Ciara despite that one having the edge on experience and David Evans' filly is narrowly preferred.

Dual Listed and Group 3 winner TRIPLE ASPECT is having his first run since leaving William Haggas for Jeremy Gask and he meets all of his rivals on better terms than he would in a handicap so, if he is at the top of his game, he should prove tough to beat. Next best on these terms is Jonny Mudball. He has had his share of problems but is a very useful performer on his day and looks the main danger, as Dinkum Diamond and Tax Free both appear to have their work cut out at the weights.
Jonny Mudball should get back on track, but Dinkum Diamond appeals as the type to do even better this year and can successfully concede weight all round on his return.

Lesotho had to settle for second best on her handicap debut over 5f at Kempton last month but she is entitled to come on for that and must be on the shortlist here. The draw is a potential problem, however, and with that in mind the one to be with could be KNOCKER KNOWLES. He ran out an impressive winner of a Warwick maiden on just his second run as a juvenile and there should be more to come from him this year. Red Senor and Personal Touch are others to consider in a competitive handicap.

DANDINO, a winner at Group 2 level over 1m4f last year, has a good record fresh and he just about comes out best on these terms so he looks set to mount a bold bid on his return to action. Blue Bajan is just 1lb 'wrong' with James Given's representative and he would be a big player if at his best, but the biggest danger could be Electrolyser, who is fit from a spell in Meydan and has no issue with neither trip nor ground.
A good renewal in prospect. Dandino would prove hard to beat if reproducing the form of his Jockey Club win at Newmarket last May, but is taken on with the race-fit Eternal Heart who can gain his first victory at this level. Solar Sky appeals best of the remainder.

A competitive handicap and a case can be made for plenty of them but it could pay to side with NICHOLASCOPERNICUS. He has shown plenty of ability in maidens over shorter trips and could prove a good deal better than his opening handicap mark of 64 now stepping up in trip. Similar comments apply to Richard Fahey's filly Spirit Na Heireann and she is one to monitor closely in the market on her handicap bow. It's A Girl Thing and Fleur De La Vie are others to keep a close eye on.
Quite a few of these likely have their best days ahead of them, including Spirit Na Heireann, who can make a successful reappearance for Richard Fahey. Whipcrackaway and Nicholascopernicus are others to consider.

JOYFUL SPIRIT rounded off last season with a decent second over a mile at Windsor and with the 1m2f trip likely to suit, she is fancied to get off the mark on her reappearance. Renegotiate showed some promise in maidens last term and he is interesting on his return to action with a visor applied. Marinus, Navajo Charm and Bevis Marks are also considered as they tackle handicap company for the first time off potentially lenient marks.
Plenty of these will leave their 2-y-o form behind this season and the betting should be revealing. Joyful Spirit looked a certain future winner when last seen and can make a successful return at a track where her trainer has a good record. Neil's Pride and Marinus are a couple of others likely to be winning before long.

The two Godolphin representatives, Brailsford and Paladin, make some appeal and Al Jabreiah has been allocated a fair handicap mark following her success in a Brighton maiden last year so she is also respected. Drummond is open to improvement and could easily figure on his handicap debut and Dilizan is worth a second glance but THE GIVING TREE gets the nod. She won with a little bit in hand over this C&D in October last year and the form has worked out well since, making a 6lb rise look very fair.
