Waabel arrives in fine form but continues to creep up the handicap and has no margin for error as a result, unlike SPEAK THE TRUTH who is edging back down the ratings. Jim Boyle's charge is now only 2lb higher than when completing a C&D double in January and was far from disgraced in fourth here last time, despite 7f being a little too far for him, so he will relish the drop back to his optimum trip. My Lord was a place ahead of the selection latest and reopposes on the same terms, while Waterloo Dock warrants respect after his recent efforts over C&D in plating company.
Waabel goes well here, is in good order and looks the safest option in a run-of-the-mill claimer. My Lord and Waterloo Dock could prove best of the rest.

PERFECT WORDS can put his experience to good use. Sixth in the Brocklesby first time out, he had to settle for the silver medal when the winner got first run at Folkestone last week and wouldn't have to find much more to go one better today. Caught Napping hinted at ability when beaten just over two lengths at Redcar and should have gained plenty from that experience, but Jamnean failed to catch the eye on her debut on the all-weather. None of the newcomers look anything special on paper but would have to be taken seriously if particularly popular in the betting market.
Caught Napping showed something to work with at Redcar last week and he can get off the mark at the second attempt. Perfect Words can chase him home.

Following a 7f victory at Wolverhampton, THE BAY BANDIT was given too much to do from his wide berth over 1m at Kempton off his revised mark but stayed on well for a one-length third and looks worth another chance from a better draw today. Russian Storm was back on the winning trail over 1m2f here last time but a 4lb rise and the shorter trip make this assignment much tougher, so the biggest threat may be Join Up, who continues to slip down the ratings and wasn't beaten far over C&D last month.
Monsieur Broughton is going to get his act together at some stage and he looks the most interesting contender in this field. The Bay Bandit comes here in good order and is respected, while Whitstable Native ran a promising race for his new stable last time and is another to consider.

BYRD IN HAND just ran out of steam late on when touched off over this C&D last month but that was his first outing since October and he is expected to strip fitter today. Off only 1lb higher, he is taken to hang on this time, possibly at the chief expense of Emerald Royal and Chandrayaan, both of whom have been knocking hard on the door recently. Josie's Dream is also of interest now tried in handicap company for the first time off what looks a feasible opening mark.
Belle Noverre is very interesting starting out for her new stable and she is preferred to Mac Tiernan and Chandrayaan in a competitive race of its type.

Both better than their last efforts on turf suggests, polytrack winners Midas Moment and Zing Wing warrant respect back on this surface but the safest option may be QEETHAARA. He made it three wins from his last four starts when scoring over 7f at Kempton recently and did so in the style to suggest a 3lb rise won't halt him, especially with the return to 1m (six of his seven wins came at this trip) very much in his favour.
Bold Ring is capable on her day and gets the vote in a race that might not take a great deal of winning. Midas Moment and Qeethaara can fill the places.

John Gosden has his string in fine form and also boasts an excellent strike-rate on the polytrack here in recent years, so it could pay to side with his DARTFORD. The form of his third over 7f here last month has worked out well and he looked in need of further still when runner-up over 1m at Kempton late last month, so he is taken to make the most of this extra yardage. There are no shortage of dangers, however, with Mahmood Al Zarooni's Yaa Salam expected to go well on his seasonal/all-weather debut after three good efforts in decent maidens last year. Likewise Almuftarris, who finished ahead of the latter when last seen at Yarmouth in September. Attain, placed on his last two starts on polytrack, is another expected to have his say.
Almuftarris shaped with plenty of promise in 2 runs last season and his pedigree and physique both point to him doing better this year. He can get the better of another pair of promising Newmarket raiders in Commend and Dartford.

Derivatives continues to run well in defeat and looks sure to be in the firing line again but, still searching for her opening success, she may have to play second fiddle again, this time to LIONROCK. Mark Johnston's charge left his maiden form behind when making a successful handicap debut over this C&D last month, shaping like there could be more to come and he could still have room to manoeuvre following a 3lb rise for that victory. Classic Falcon has improved with each of his three maiden starts and is worth a second look now sent handicapping off what looks a decent mark.

Chatterer proved a model of consistency last year and seems sure to prove popular on his return to action. Another bold bid appears likely but a chance is taken on MORESWEETS 'N LACE who is already a C&D winner and made an encouraging reappearance over 1m4f here last month. Entitled to strip fitter today and returned to this more suitable trip, he edges the vote although it might be too early to write off the lightly raced Cala Santanyi.
Moresweets'n lace is a former C&D winner and can come on from her recent return from a 10-month absence to take this. Cala Santanyi may be the one for the forecast.
