SO IS SHE recorded both of her all-weather victories over 7f at Southwell but has scored over hurdles more recently and should have no problems over this intermediate trip. Alan Bailey's filly was putting in her best work in the finish over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton last time and arrives here in good heart. Karate is only 3lb higher than when scoring over 1m here in December and has place claims over this longer trip, along with Oliver's Gold, who returns from a spell hurdling.
Addikt was a dual C&D winner just over a year ago, and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back from some abject displays after a break. So Is She and Carr Hall head the list of dangers.

Steelcut is thriving at present and arrives here on a hat-trick after two victories at claiming level. Another bold bid looks assured, despite the step up in grade, but it might be worth siding with HOWYADOINGNOTSOBAD instead. Karen George's four-year-old made all of the running when landing a 0-65 here last month. Entitled to strip fitter for that run, there is likely more to come and he's expected to strike from an inside draw. Sherjawy is weighted to win soon and is also considered.
Howyadoingnotsobad travelled well in front when beating Wreningham over C&D on his seasonal bow, and is well berthed to make all again. Neither Steelcut nor Silvanus has fared so well with the draw, but still look the chief threats on recent form.

Expense Claim improved in between each of his three runs last year and is expected to thrive now upped to this longer trip. However, this is a race that appears to centre around Sir Michael Stoute's debutant PISTOL, and whether or not he is ready to do himself justice first time out. The High Chaparral gelding cost 110,000gns as a yearling and should be monitored closely in the betting. Totom Chief ran well over 1m2f here in December and has place claims.
Pistol isn't overfaced on his debut, and he's entitled to the utmost respect, but the experience of Expense Claim sways the verdict in his favour in a race lacking depth. Totom Chief is probably one for handicaps in time, but can't be ignored.

Although the assessor has taken no chances in allotting him a mark of 86, he's unexposed and gets the verdict with match fitness on his side. Theturnofthesun could strip fitter for his recent comeback at Doncaster and is respected now handicapping over this longer trip. Cherry Street, who broke his maiden at Pontefract in October, is worth a market check now returning from a 191-day break.
A cracking contest despite just a handful of runners and all can be given a chance. Cherry Street looks the pick of the weights and promises to be suited by this trip, so gets the call over Bordoni.

Better Be Mine hasn't been hit overly hard for her Nottingham victory when last sighted in September and merits respect off 4lb higher, now returning from a break with Ryan Moore booked for the job. With the benefit of a recent run to her name, however, MIDNIGHT SEQUEL shades the vote. Michael Blake's filly was third over C&D last month and likely has more to offer from 1lb higher (out of handicap today). Smart Affair switches in surface after winning a Southwell seller but is also considered.
A few of these, notably Adelindus and Dark Celt, are capable of leaving poor 2-y-o form behind now trying a trip, but the pair who bring the strongest form to the table are Better Be Mine and Always Ends Well, with the former preferred.

Kinloch Castle is expected to put up most resistance as he was beaten by less than a length off this mark at Musselburgh last weekend and is entitled to strip fitter for the run. California English landed a C&D maiden in impressive fashion in December and merits a market check now returning from a break.
Basseterre's Lingfield form has been boosted by the runner-up landing a couple of handicaps since and he can take advantage of what could prove a lenient opening mark. California English and Kinloch Castle can chase him home.

OH MY DAYS has presumably had a few issues as he's been off the track for 383 days, but he had previously shown plenty of ability in sprint maidens and could potentially be well treated off a mark of 62 on his handicap bow if retaining much of his talent. Black Cadillac has been acquitting himself well since returning from a break and is expected to finish on the premises despite a recent 1lb rise in the weights. C&D winner Royal Selection returns from a break now handicapping and is worth a market check.
Quite a few to consider but it will be surprising if Black Cadillac isn't winning handicaps soon and he looks the call after 2 promising runs here last month. Oh My Days is unexposed for Clive Cox and must be respected, while Royal Selection likely has more to offer.
