VERSILIA GAL was easy to back on her racecourse debut over C&D last month but defied market expectation with a creditable third, going down by less than a length at the line with the reopposing Toccata Blue well-held back in fifth. Patrick Martin's filly should be all the wiser for the experience gained that day and is taken to score at the expense of Dylanbaru, who was fourth on debut at the Curragh last month, and Jim Bolger's Einsteins Folly, who merits a market check on his racecourse bow.
Dylanbaru shaped like a sure-fire maiden winner on debut at the Curragh and should take all the beating here. Toccata Blue's previous experience gives him the edge over Einsteins Folly in the battle for second.

Ahaaly shaped with promise over 7f on debut at Limerick last month and was a little unfortunate to bump into a smart winner from the John Oxx yard (Shebella, who is entered in the Irish Oaks). The former is expected to open her account in the weeks to come, but Oxx should know where he stands with that rival and it is interesting he saddles up WASABI'S HOUSE against her today. The selection found 5f on the sharp side when second here in November and should relish the return to 6f. Dream Applause, fourth over C&D in October, now returns from a break but has place claims.
This looks a straight fight between Ahaaly and Wasabi's House with narrow preference for the former who showed plenty of speed at Limerick. Dream Applause may be able to snatch a place.

Sli Na Fiarana ran a cracker on her seasonal return over C&D last month, overcoming a wide draw and keeping on for second. However, the sneaky suspicion is that she will benefit from a step up in trip in time, and it might be worth chancing that OPA LOCA, third behind the first-named that day, can reverse the form as she led 2f out before weakening close home and could well strip fitter for that run. Another tied in with the aforementioned pair on their last-time-out running is Dermot Weld's Sparkling View, who also merits inclusion on the shortlist.
Hairstyle isn't certain to be suited by the drop back to 1m so this could well boil down to the trio that filled the frame behind Sharalam here last month, namely Sli Na Fiarana, Opa Loca and Sparkling View, with Opa Loca chosen to come out on top this time.

EAST OF TARA was denied a hat-trick when settling for the silver medal at Limerick two weeks ago but had rattled off a course double previously and can regain the winning thread now reverting back to polytrack. 2lb higher than when narrowly touched off over C&D in October, Karjera merits consideration from a low draw now returning from a break and looks the main danger. Rocky's Pride is holding his form well at present and should give it a good go from the front under Seamie Heffernan, although he does have a wide berth to overcome.
The in-form East of Tara has to enter calculations here but narrow preference is for Barrow Island who has run well on both previous visits to this track and should strip fitter for his recent reappearance. Gaiety Theatre and Moonbi Ridge are others to consider.

Paul Deegan has won this handicap twice in the last four seasons and saddles another fascinating candidate in the shape of once-raced filly CAPRELLA. She belied obvious greenness to justify market support on her debut in a 14-runner maiden over 7f here last October and, providing she's gone the right way over the winter, an initial mark of 78 looks manageable to say the least. Thomasgainsborough also looked just a shell of a horse at two but there was a lot to like about his Leopardstown maiden win in October and he's expected to be a much stronger animal this term. Piri Wango and Precious Dream, both course winners, add extra spice to what could turn out to be an informative contest.
Precious Dream and Suehail are both already up-and-running for the season, looking progressive to boot, and can fight out the finish in this 3-y-o handicap, with the former given the nod as she may get the run of things from the front. Thomasgainsborough can chase them home.

Recent course third Dart Queen could be able to reverse the form with winner Indian Scout on 3lb better terms over this marginally longer distance, but the one that makes most appeal is COACH BOMBAY. Making his all-weather and seasonal debut here late last month, Mick Halford's gelded four-year-old scored with a bit more in hand than the official three-quarter-length margin suggests and a mere 5lb rise in the ratings could turn out to be a gift from the assessor. Cinderella Story and the returning Lupa Montana are reasonable each-way alternatives.
Dart Queen really caught the eye here last time and can turn the tables on the hat-trick seeking Indian Scout. Coach Bombay and the consistent Word For Word are others for the shortlist.

Leopardstown maiden winner DEVOTION was last seen struggling to make an impact in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket in September but this race represents a significant drop in class and, with the longer distance expected to suit (dam related to Celestial Halo), it looks an ideal starting point for the season, just as it was for her stablemate Amazing Beauty 12 months ago.
