Tawakul takes the eye on only her second career start having failed to shine on debut when sent off favourite at Jebel Ali last month. She seems sure to improve while better can be expected from Race To Dubai, who was a shade disappointing latest but has shown enough so far to suggest he can win races. Earth Tour is respected with Richard Mullen doing the steering for Saeed Seemar, but HADBA did little wrong when second to Enjoy Today here back in December and a repeat performance might prove good enough today.
A rather typical maiden in that very few of these have the ability to win, but Hadba has shown enough to suggest she can take a race of this nature and is the selction. Midnight Moon is proving consistent and that will be enough to see him involved again whilst Tawakul could improve significantly from her debut on this fairer surface.
RUTLAND BOY has thrived since arriving on these shores and was good value for his 2 3/4-length victory over 7f here last time. The Bertolini 4-y-o clearly enjoys this surface and a 6lb rise in the weights for that impressive success doesn't appear overly harsh. It is interesting to see Frankie get the leg up on Legislation, who returns from a mammoth spell on the sidelines today, and market confidence behind his chance would be worth noting, while Phoenix City might be worth a second look despite flopping badly on her Carnival debut two weeks ago. A Newmarket winner last summer, she remains capable of much better.
Rutland Boy finished ahead of Maath Gool last time but the latter almost certainly needed the run and gets the vote. The former should be on the premises again along with Ana Emarati, although the surface is still something of an unknown for that one. A market move for Legislation should be noted returning from a lengthy absence.
There was a huge amount of market confidence behind TAHAAMAH'S prior to his Carnival debut and although losing out to Tanfeeth on that occasion, the selection certainly wants marking up for that effort. Denied a clear run on a number of occasions, Saeed Bin Suroor's charge fairly flew home once in the clear to take second and appears well handicapped. Bawadi is progressing at a rate of knots and comes into this bidding to complete the hat-trick, but this is his toughest task so far and Radegund Abbey is taken to give the selection most to fear following his solid second here latest.
Tahaamah looked unfortunate not to win last time and he can gain compensation in a race where most look in the grip of the handicapper. Radegund Abbey and Sarbola seem the likeliest to chase him home.
GARBAH built upon some solid efforts at Abu Dhabi in January when landing a C&D handicap last month and is taken to notch a double, off 5lb higher, while evidently in good heart. The reopposing fourth, Lord Tiger, looks the main danger off 5lb better terms as he had previously won stylishly over this track and trip and is evidently well suited to conditions. Cinderkamp has edged up 2lb for a near-miss over 7f here last time but looks best of the rest with the return to 6f expected to suit.
Lord Tiger ran out an impressive winner on his penultimate start and his below-par effort last time is best excused. In the circumstances he did well to finish fourth and he can reverse form with Garbah granted a cleaner break. Cinderkamp is feared along with Ahtoug who's form last year looks strong and appeals as the type to do well out in Dubai.
A tricky puzzle for punters to solve here but the jockey bookings suggest GRAND VENT is Godolphin first-string and perhaps the former Andre Fabre inmate is the one to be on. A Group 2 winner over this trip on good ground in April, the selection could be a force to be reckoned with now eased into handicap company on his first start for Saeed Bin Suroor. If the selection is found wanting for fitness, Rerouted looks the one most likely to profit. Mike De Kock's representative was third to Delegator over 7f last month and followed that up with a creditable 1m1f second in a conditions race latest, hinting as though he'd be worth a try over further. Masteroftherolls and Marcret have been running to a consistent level at the Carnival this year and shouldn't be too far away either.
Rerouted is sure to be popular after finishing well when runner-up last week, but he is taken on with stablemate Anaerobio. The former Grade 1 winner again ran poorly on tapeta last time but must have every chance if reproducing his second to Mutahadee. Masteroftherolls was third on that occasion and can fill the places once more.
Suits Me ran encouragingly over 1m2f here in January and should give it his best shot from the front once again, but potential competition for the lead from Ahlaain, who kicked on for home a little too early here last time, means this race could be set up nicely for SHARAYEEN. The selection was never placed to challenge on dirt at Jebel Ali last time but will appreciate the return to tapeta. A strongly run 1m1f will be ideal and a 2lb drop in the ratings looks an additional positive. Graymalkin and Star Surprise have run well over 1m here in recent months and would have place claims if reproducing those efforts over this longer trip.
Graymalkin can be expected to bounce back quickly from a slightly below-par run last time, but the vote goes to Star Surprise who ran well when third over 1m here earlier this month. Wealthy appeals best of the remainder.
