A GEM OF A STORY showed nothing until a much better effort when third to Allstar Leader at Clonmel and Michael Hourigan's mare can take advantage of the 15lb she receives from Le Roi D'Anjou. The latter did very well to finish a close second to Kylegara Lady over the C&D last month on her handicap debut and she won't go down without a fight. My Lucky Rose looks best of the rest after her decent run at Kelso.

The Foyle appears to have gone backwards since his bumper victory and fine debut run over timber, while In The High Grass and Chapeaux Bas have also been a little disappointing over hurdles, though there is probably more to come from the pair. Arthur Moore's MARSHALL HALL was fancied to improve for his opening hurdles run but a bad mistake at the first put him out of contention until staying on late over 2m at Wexford. He can make further progress and this should be within his capabilities.

COPPER MOON attracted plenty of support on his Punchestown debut and though eventually unplaced he showed enough to suggest he can give Nina Carberry another winning ride. Im A Witness disappointed at Navan after a good debut there but that run could have come too soon and he can pose a threat. Crock A Doyle has changed stables since a disappointing run at Gowran a year ago and better is expected.
