Although she doesn't have the healthiest of strike rates, MYSTERIOUS PEACE looks to have been found a decent opportunity to score here. Dropped in class following a second place last time, she should prove hard to beat. Lady Long Gone has a solid chance and could have a say, along with Taps For Liberty. Black Beauty Cutie got off the mark by the narrowest of margins last time and has worked well since so is also respected.
After a string of places stretching back four runs, GRAND SEQUOIA is taken to buck her recent trend and come home in front. She has some sound recent form and can be relied upon to give her running. Notfartogo looks a leading contender but must overcome a disappointing last effort on her first start for a new yard, while Go Bella Go has been off the track for six months but represents an in-form barn and has won her last two starts.
Proud Patrolman worked well Dec 7 and arrives here in good form so he is fancied to run a big race. Victory Roar is also at the top of his game and is unlikely to be far away but BOLD ARIES is preferred. Also in rude health right now and trained by the in-form Steven Miyadi, he has the best recent speed figures to his name and is taken to make it four wins on the bounce.
A modest affair can go the way of TAKIN DEAD AIM who has steadily improved with each outing to date. The form of his latest second place would be good enough to take this and few others make much appeal. Northern Comet is one to keep an eye on as he drops in class but he's yet to hit the money and has produced his best form on the turf. Atticus In Style completes the short-list.
Boasting the highest speed figure at today's distance and now the mount of a high-percentage jockey, STARRING ROLE appears to have a solid chance of adding to her recent comfortable victory over this C&D. Free Wheeler is the most likely danger, but Justin's Girl could have more to offer as she bids to complete a hat trick.
ACADEMY WEST is eligible to improve in what is only his third start since returning from a lengthy absence, so compensation might await those supporters who backed him into favouritism three weeks ago. Swedish Radar has been working well and could progress for this longer trip, while Madera Moon has place prospects yet again.
Narrow preference is for PLAYIN THE NINERS who rates well in this company, but Crossing Borders hails from a stable in top form and could mount a serious challenge. Minor honours might go the way of Zulu Dancer who has been showing speed in training and should appreciate the return to sprinting.
Not the most obvious race in which to be involved, but a chance is taken on POTRERO STATION who represents a high-percentage trainer. Savannahs Boy actually boasts the highest speed figures in the race and must rate a big danger, while the switch to an in-form yard might be all that Splendid Caper needs to go one better than on his recent debut.
