Go Maggie Go has been knocking on the door of late and she looks sure to be on the premises once more but it could pay to take her on with PORTHGWIDDEN BEACH. Stuart Williams' filly did not show a great deal in her three runs last year but she could be capable of much better now tackling handicap company off a mark of just 47. Gunalt Joy has been disappointing so far but it is too early to write her off.
Porthgwidden Beach is open to improvement now moving into handicaps and the market should prove informative. As things stand though, Go Maggie Go is well up to winning a race of this nature and is preferred to Una Vita Pius.

COTTON KING won with plenty in hand over 1m4f here last week and, with the step up in trip unlikely to pose a problem, he is fancied to defy a 6lb penalty this evening. Leyte Gulf is not impossibly handicapped on his best form and he acts well here so he is accorded the utmost respect. The Irish raider, Ebony Shades, would make some appeal if there is confidence behind him in the market.
Cotton King will be popular after his recent win here but a penalty makes life tougher and Leyte Gulf is fancied to get the better of him this time. Amical Risks may prove best of the rest.

This looks very competitive and a case can be made for a few of them. Carter comes into this in terrific form and he will be expected to give another good account, along with Jezza who was narrowly denied when long odds-on here last month. Parhelion and Dubara Reef are also considered but a tentative verdict goes to ETHICS GIRL, who can usually be relied upon to run her race and should have this race run to suit.
Ethics Girl ran into a very well-handicapped rival here last time and can regain the winning thread at the main expense of Carter and Jezza.

Our Kes has rediscovered her form of late and there is no reason why she should not run her race tonight but the one to beat could be BRIGHT SPARKY. He returned to form with a solid second at Southwell last month and he is feasibly treated on his best form. Princess Lexi has solid each-way claims and Dots Delight should not be left out of calculations, while Le Corvee can also make his presence felt.
Mary Helen will appreciate this return to a longer trip and can get the better of Our Kes and Dot's Delight in a low-grade event.

SYRIAN is a very tricky customer but he has ability in abundance and he can complete the hat-trick this evening. He got the better of Faithful Ruler here last time and a reproduction of that effort would probably make him tough to beat. Ron Harris' representative could be the one to ask most questions of him again, although Ahlawy meets Syrian on 2lb better terms than he would in a handicap and he can figure if returning from a break at the top of his game.
With Ahlawy looking increasingly difficult at the start, this could be best left to Syrian and Faithful Ruler and the former can confirm his recent superiority.

STRICTLY PINK was knocking on the door on the all-weather back in autumn last year and, if she is in peak condition after her break, she might be able to get off the mark tonight. Unwrapit posted an improved effort to finish runner-up at Southwell last week and that form gives her each-way prospects. Kevin Ryan's newcomer, Misere, makes plenty of appeal and confidence behind her in the betting market would be a big positive.
Strictly Pink has yet to prove she stays 7f and having rather hung fire when last seen in September may be vulnerable to the newcomer Misere, who is bred to get the job done at the first time of asking, plus hails from an in-form yard. Unwrapit showed much more last week and could also take a hand if keeping straight this time.

Dasho made a winning debut over this C&D last month but he has been allocated a stiff enough mark for his handicap debut. SAUCY BUCK returns to action off a feasible looking mark and the application of a visor could help to sharpen him up, so he gets the nod on his reappearance. Greenhead High has been running well of late and there is no reason why he should not be in the shake-up again here.
Dasho won on his debut over C&D last month and is clearly unexposed on handicap bow. He gets the nod ahead of Loves Theme, a comprehensive scorer at Lingfield recently, but up 11 lb as a result and not certain to be as effective back up in trip now.
