THE BLUE DOG scored nicely on her handicap debut when last sighted and although that run came quite some time ago, she remains open to more improvement and has to be considered a player now eased into a seller. Orchard Supreme has been a prolific winner at this track in his time but he is sailing into unchartered waters now with regards to the trip and his stamina has to be taken on trust. Barodine stays this far but has been disappointing of late and needs to raise his game to figure at the weights.
Orchard Supreme is the clear pick at these weights and will be tough to beat if coping with the step up to 1½m for his new yard. Barodine is likely to prove the chief threat if putting some modest recent efforts behind him, though The Blue Dog would be very much respected if the market vibes are positive on her return from a year off.

CHARLES DARWIN was beaten by less than a length off this mark when second over C&D last week and, racing off a 7lb lower mark than when scoring here last April, looks weighted to strike. This Ones For Eddy is also handicapped to strike any time soon but his attitude is lamentable and he isn't one for maximum faith. Veteran Ivory Lace has conditions to suit and probably still has a race in her at this level but Cwmni makes more appeal having gone close in second over the track and trip earlier this month.
A wide-open contest, but Ivory Lace is potentially well treated and is chanced after shaping as if back in form on recent starts. Batchworth Blaise and last week's C&D runner-up Charles Darwin are others to consider.

RUBENSTAR is fully effective under these conditions and is narrowly preferred at the weights. Pat Morris' charge landed a C&D handicap earlier this month and can follow up now eased into selling grade. I Confess is likely to give it his best shot from the front and isn't weighted out of the contest, while Frequency's winning sequence was halted at Wolverhampton recently but he is more than capable of making an impact at this level. Emerald Girl may be seen to better effect on a stiffer track but is open to more improvement than most of her rivals.
Rubenstar has looked something of a reformed character when winning 3 of his 5 starts this year and has every chance of adding to his haul in this easier grade, probably at the chief expense of Lend A Grand.

ILISSOS showed improvement between his first and second runs when upped to this trip last time and appears the one to be on in a moderate maiden. Jeremy Noseda's colt was third in a much stronger contest over C&D last month and is capable of building upon that effort in a weaker looking event. Caravan Rolls On may fare better now upped in trip and appears to have place possibilities while market support for Mick Channon's newcomer Brilliant Barca would also be interesting.
Any money for either of the newcomers in such a weak maiden could prove significant, but as things stand Caravan Rolls On is just preferred to Ilissos, the latter having not progressed as expected in a similar C&D event in January.

Galiotto should strip fitter for his last run over 1m4f here last month and is likely to appreciate the return to further. Money Money Money broke her maiden here last time and looks feasibly treated ahead of her return to handicap company. However, it might be worth giving ALTERNATIVE CHOICE another chance. Nick Littmoden's charge failed to land a blow when upped to 2m last time but is capable of better over this shorter trip and is only 2lb higher than when beaten by a head by the progressive Straversjoy on his penultimate start.
Galiotto was all the rage in the market here last week on his first start for Gary Moore and should go well, but Alternative Choice had a valid excuse for his latest defeat and is narrowly preferred. Diamond Twister is another who should be thereabouts on his best form.

MIDNIGHT RIDER has rattled the crossbar on his last three outings, all on turf, and is given another chance now switched in surface and having enjoyed the benefit of a break. Ralph Beckett is 3-5 in three-year-old maidens on the all-weather this season and can ready a newcomer so market support for Abacist would be interesting. Stand Beside Me wasn't disgraced over C&D on his debut earlier this month and is entitled to improve with the benefit of that initial experience behind him, while Chimpunk handles polytrack well but has a lengthy absence to overcome on his first start for Michael Wigham.
Hoover and Abacist are interesting newcomers who could well play a leading role, but Midnight Rider sets a decent standard on his trio of runner-up efforts last year and will be tough to beat if fully wound up on his return.

Highlife Dancer hasn't progressed as hoped but is eased 2lb in the weights and may be capable of better. Tijori opened his account at Wolverhampton last month and makes his handicap debut today off a realistic mark, so he looks the best option for the second leg of the forecast. Foxtrot Golf may benefit from this step up in trip but others appear better treated.
Aquilifer's quirkiness has looked a thing of the past when rattling off a trio of handicap wins at this venue last month and he is worth sticking with to complete the 4-timer. Tijori looks easily best of the others.
