Mutamared won five on the trot on the all-weather last winter but has looked out of sorts of late and needs to rediscover his old form. Obe Royal was well beaten at this level at Ayr last time but is an all-weather specialist and must come into consideration. Preference, however, is for SIR IKE, who has hit form recently after a five-month break with wins at Chepstow and Folkestone. He's yet to score on the all-weather but is hard to oppose in his current form.
None of those with more obvious claims at the weights can be backed with complete confidence on current form, but Mutamared can usually be relied upon to give his running on polytrack and looks the safest option. Resplendent Nova and Charles Parnell can't be ignored given the terms they meet others at in this company.

HELIEORBEA scored in some style in a 6f Hamilton maiden last month. He shoulders joint topweight today on his handicap debut and, with the extended trip helping, should be capable of following up. Regeneration has won twice on the all-weather at Lingfield this year and although he has plenty of weight now, could be open to further improvement and looks the danger. Satwa Star and All For You shouldn't be too far away.
Satwa Star didn't get much luck when behind Regeneration at Lingfield a month ago and can reverse the placings with improvement looking forthcoming. All For You could be involved in the finish also.

It could be worth taking a chance here on RYEDANE. A model of consistency, he's now 8lb higher than when winning at Carlisle in May but has put in some good efforts since as befits a horse who has won off higher ratings. He has an outstanding chance in this company if delivering his best. Weet A Surprise is another consistent sort with claims on his best form while Loyal Royal was only beaten a nose over C&D last time and could be thereabouts again despite a 2lb rise.
Quite a competitive race and it's difficult to rule out many. Louphole could be the one though, this a much more realistic task than the one he was given last time. Ryedane and Desert Pride are others on the shortlist.

This looks an ideal opportunity for CARMELA MARIA to record just her second win and her first for a year since scoring at Great Leighs. She hit form recently with a couple of good efforts in handicaps and, back on the all-weather and dropped in class, should have the edge here. Lady Valentino has put in some good efforts in similar contests but is still a maiden after 19 starts and all-weather specialist Wind Flow, who takes a big drop in class tonight, looks a bigger danger.
Carmela Maria went with much more zest in first-time cheekpieces at Yarmouth last week and can get back to winning ways in her first seller. Sphere and Playful Asset could be her biggest dangers.

In an open contest, it should pay to side with veteran all-weather specialist ZALKANI. He remains remarkably consistent and scored over C&D three starts ago off a 1lb lower mark. He looks to be hitting form again after a short break and is weighted to take this. Verity Lane was an expensive purchase and could run well on her racecourse debut while Cloudy City was third in a similar contest at Goodwood and is on the upgrade. Yarmouth debut winner The Starboard Bow wasn't disgraced next time at Salisbury in Listed company but preference is for PALLANTES CROSS, a winner at Musselburgh on his second start. He has continued to improve and his close third in a valuable Newmarket handicap last month suggests he should prove too good for these rivals.

In a tricky contest it could pay to side with Brighton winner, LUMINOUS STAR. Although he's never won on the all-weather, it should pay to side with recent Yarmouth winner KING'S ICON here. He has clearly hit top form this summer, including a recent Yarmouth success, and is weighted to run a big race tonight. The Grey One is running well but might have too much weight now and Southwell 6f winner Royal Crest makes more appeal for the forecast back on the all-weather and up in trip.
King's Icon ran into one of the hottest handicappers around here on Thursday and looks likely to go one better, with Zennerman and Cheers For Thea expected to be not too far behind.
