WATERUNDER made the perfect start to his hurdling career when gamely beating subsequent winner It's A Gimme (that pair pulled 11 lengths clear of the rest) over this C&D last month and, entitled to have learnt a great deal from that experience, he gets the vote to defy a penalty. Mezzanisi was rated as high as 90 in his Flat days for Michael Bell and warrants plenty of respect now sent hurdling, while Chris Down's NH debutant New Christmas is another with claims.
One-time pretty useful Flat performer Mezzanisi is worth keeping an eye on in the market back from an absence, but this does have the look of a match between Waterunder and The Pretender, the former taken to notch his second C&D success of the year.

It could pay to side with WISHES AND STARS in what looks a tricky puzzle for punters to solve. With just four starts under her belt, there is certainly scope for improvement and she shaped as though stepping up in trip would help when fifth over an extended 2m3f at Taunton last time. Beta Blocker has made the frame on his last couple of starts and should be thereabouts again, while Cocacobana and Thomas Wild make up the shortlist.
Cocacobana looks the safest option in a race where it's hard to make a strong case for many. Beta Blocker and Wishes And Stars look next best.

Alan King has won the last couple of runnings of this race and appears to have another big chance with LOVCEN. Prior to his second-flight fall at Doncaster last month, he had made a big impression when bolting up over 2m5f at Towcester and must go close to winning this purse if he's to take up his engagement in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival. Rolling Aces has displayed a fair level of ability in both NH starts so far rates the biggest threat, while Volador has each-way claims.

Tim The Chair was marginally behind in that Warwick race (finishing third) and should be hot on his hooves again, while Rateable Value responded positively to the tongue-tie/cheekpieces combination at Fontwell latest and can't be ruled out.
Tim The Chair and Saint Peray are the 2 least exposed members of this field and may be the pair to concentrate on. SEVENTH SKY made a promising start to his hurdling career when runner-up at Ffos Las some three weeks ago and, with improvement expected, he could go one better today. Grandioso's third at Chepstow in October looks fairly solid with the first and second both winning since and he ought to mount a bold here, while Moorland Sunset didn't appear to get home over an extended 2m3f at Taunton last time and can be given another chance over this shorter trip.
Grandioso and Theatre Guide look sure to win races in this sphere in due course, but this may be best left to German-import Seventh Sky, who made a most pleasing start over timber at Ffos Las in January and can go one better this time.
