Classy bumper performer KEYS sets the standard here having followed home Supreme Novices' Hurdle fancy Cinders And Ashes on his hurdling debut at Aintree in December and providing the subsequent layoff hasn't affected him in any way, Nicky Henderson's five-year-old should make it second time lucky over timber. Last-flight Ayr faller Super Duty was in the process of enhancing his unbeaten record at the time and must be respected, despite conceding weight, while point-to-point winner Saint Roque is open to improvement but may need further.
Super Duty was unfortunate not to keep his unbeaten record intact when coming a cropper at the last at Ayr in January, but the highly promising Keys is taken to make the most of the 8 lb weight concession. Saint Roque is another likely improver.

Invictus could be interesting stepping up to 3m for the first time in his career but he'll need some improvement to get the better of SILVINIACO CONTI and Bobs Worth, who finished second and third respectively to Grands Crus in the Grade 1 Feltham at Kempton on Boxing Day. The Paul Nicholls-trained selection still has room for improvement in the jumping department and he can confirm his superiority over Bobs Worth, who looks all about stamina. Alfie Spinner may also need more of a test and he's one to note when sent down the handicap route.
Silviniaco Conti finished 3 lengths in front of Bobs Worth in the Feltham last time, but Nicky Henderson's charge will appreciate the greater emphasis on stamina that this track provides and is fancied to turn the tables. Invictus should improve for the step up to 3m and can take third.

CAPPA BLEU put up a brave effort when chasing home two Chepstow specialists in the Welsh National, confirming his Haydock comeback win was no fluke. The 2009 Foxhunter Chase hero is still lightly raced for a ten-year-old and he's worth another chance off this mark back on more suitable ground. The Minack seems to have really come of age this term but a 9lb rise for his C&D success in December will not be easy to overcome. Peter Marsh runner-up Pearlysteps has another 3lb to contend with but remains realistically treated, while Penny Max is the unexposed eye-catcher towards the foot of the weights and he merits close attention in his bid to complete the hat-trick.
The hat-trick seeking duo of Penny Max and The Minack both make stacks of appeal given their current rapid rate of progress, with the first named marginally preferred. Cappa Bleu is likely to come home strongly and is another leading contender.

KAUTO STONE remains a prospect of the highest order and can resume winning ways having last been seen chasing home the brilliant Sizing Europe in the Tingle Creek back in December. Already a Grade 1 winner in his native France, Paul Nicholls' charge has been given a nice break since that personal best performance at Sandown and should have underfoot conditions to suit today as he bids to claim his first top-level success on these shores. Last year's winner Riverside Theatre makes his first start since, following injury, and plenty of attention is sure to surround the one-time King George runner-up. However he performs today, though, he is entitled to improve. Medermit seems sure to be on the premises following a string of fine efforts so far this season, while Gauvain's overall profile suggests a clear round of jumping should see last year's runner-up involved once again.
Riverside Theatre and Kauto Stone are the obvious ones, but both return from absences and connections could have Cheltenham in mind. Given that, it could be worth chancing the bigger-priced Little Josh, whose form with Weird Al/Long Run, in combination with his eye-catching reappearance run last time, suggests he's well worth his place in this line-up.

BOURNE looks to be starting life in the handicap hurdle division with a workable mark having been rated 97 on the Flat. He has twice failed to add to his NH debut success at Catterick in December but there was no disgrace in his head second to Spiekeroog at Newcastle last time and the move back up in distance can only be considered a plus. Swincombe Flame is on a roll after completing a hat-trick in the Lanzarote last month, while Valid Reason has notched back-to-back novice wins here and at Towcester and is another that doesn't appear overly burdened on his handicap bow. World Hurdle entrant Smad Place was impressive over C&D on his reappearance but is 7lb higher now, whereas Dunraven Storm has been eased 2lb following an encouraging comeback run at Taunton and strikes as potentially well treated.
Really competitive fare but Swincombe Flame showed she can handle the hustle and bustle of these races in the Lanzarote and a 6 lb rise looks more than fair with the potential for better still. Smad Place has to be high on any shortlist after last month's C&D win, while Art Professor is well worth another try at this trip on the back of last month's good second at Cheltenham.

Nicky Henderson has an excellent record in races of this nature and although 3m point-to-point winner RIVER MAIGUE is likely to need more of test in time, it would be no surprise to see him primed to strike at the first time of asking under NH rules. Atlantic Roller is another major player on debut for Paul Nicholls, while Royal Guardsman could be the pick of those with experience in this sphere, despite his slightly disappointing comeback run at Aintree back in April.
Atlantic Roller could prove the pick of the Nicholls pair if jockey bookings are taken at face value, but promising point winner River Maigue has joined a yard with an enviable strike rate in bumpers and he could be the answer.
