FIXE LE KAP looked a juvenile with a bright future when Nicky Henderson took the wraps off his French recruit at Newbury towards the back end of last year and he definitely falls under the 'could be anything' bracket. Natural improvement for that one-length success at the expense of Tommy Silver makes him a big player in a race of this nature and if running up to a mark of 133 he should be able to successfully concede the weight. Mystery Code was deemed good enough to contest at Listed contest at Aintree last time and rates the main danger boasting more experience, while Mister Dick completes the shortlist.
FIXE LE KAP made a winning start for Nicky Henderson at Newbury last month in a race where he tends to introduce his better juvenile hurdlers (both Grandouet and Top Notch are past winners) and he can announce his Triumph Hurdle claims now. Mystery Code wasn't disgraced in a listed event at Aintree last time and this shaper track should suit, while Live Miracle is respected on British debut.

NEWTON THISTLE could hardly have been more impressive when scoring off 15lb lower at Towcester last month and while ground conditions remain in his favour another bold showing looks assured. A steep rise in the weights could understandably be judged as a negative at first look, but Ben Pauling's nine-year-old has low mileage for his age and probably isn't done improving yet. BEARS RAILS appreciated the step up to 3m when fending off a next-time-out winner to make a winning chase debut at Fakenham in December. He likely has a fair bit more to offer and has sound prospects of shrugging off a 7 lb rise. HERBERT PARK is yet to recapture the form which saw him win three times last season but looks very well treated off 130 on the pick of his form and definitely has a race of this nature within his compass if bouncing back. David Pipe's horses were wrong when the son of Shantou unseated Tom Scudamore at Cheltenham in November and judged on his impressive success over 3m at Kempton last March there are grounds to suggests the trip beat him at Wincanton last time. The Boss's Dream is two wins from his last three starts and joins Vice Et Vertu on the shortlist.
A competitive affair. TAMBURA should be well at home faced with this sort of test and gets the vote to notch a second win of the campaign but there are plenty of possible dangers, headed by Battle Dust, Knight Ofthe Realm and Auvergnat.

Surtee Du Berlais sets the standard on her third in a Listed event at Taunton last month and prior to that she gave weight as well as a beating to recent winner Tara Flow, though she could prove vulnerable under her double penalty. Irish point winner MIA'S STORM chased home a highly touted rival on her Rules debut in a Listed bumper at Huntingdon. She showed plenty of ability that day and is entitled to come on from that run. Savingforvegas was a beaten favourite on her hurdles debut last month, but that was over 2m and this trip could well bring about some improvement, while Buttercup and Treaty Girl are also worthy of consideration.
MIA'S STORM looked a very bright prospect when pitched straight into a listed bumper at Huntingdon last month and runner-up in receipt of 12 lb, and is taken to get the measure of the more-experienced mare Surtee du Berlais. SHREWD TACTICS won his sole start in points and gets the vote, as bumper runners from this yard are always worth a look in the market. Others to note include Ballycash and Reilly's Minor.
