The winner of this race last year, Bapak Bangsawan, is tried in a first-time hood today and the Ann Stokell yard are in good form at present. The combination of the first-time application of a tongue-tie and blinkers as well as the Fibresand debut brought the best out in UPTIGHT recently. He won very well over C&D and the 6lb penalty is largely offset by his rider's claim. Barbs Princess brings solid form to the table and could well prove to be the biggest threat.
UPTIGHT looked a natural on this surface when an easy winner over this trip recently and should prove hard to stop under a penalty. Jaarih and Barbs Princess can battle for minor honours.

Most of these are making their Fibresand debuts and it could be wise to side with RUPERT BOY, who has been a frustrating sort but he has been the runner-up on his last two starts at the track. The last of which came over 7f, where he was caught late on, and the drop back in trip and the application of a visor could bring about the required improvement. Guapo Bay would have a big chance in the first-time cheekpieces if handling this surface, while Kestrel Call also features high on the shortlist.
RUPERT BOY only just lost out here recently (third has won since) and holds sound claims off the same mark. Wishsong is feared under a penalty if effective on this surface, with Kestrel Call best of the others.

He won a maiden at Wolverhampton impressively last year and made a pleasing return to the track over 7f here last week - an outing Mark Johnston's charge is sure to have come forward for. The step up in trip may bring about further improvement and he's officially 2lb well in at the weights off an unchanged mark of 73. MAJOR ROWAN left a lasting impression when winning here over 1m6f last month and seems to go well when fresh, so a 47-day absence isn't concerning. Lightly raced on a synthetic surface after just the seven starts, winning twice, the son of Captain Gerrard is open to a lot more improvement and is expected to go well off a 5lb higher mark. Little Flo is fairly consistent and should be thereabouts again, but C&D second Celestial Dancer is feared most.
FEELTHERHYTHM hasn't been with Des Donovan long, and she shaped really well when just caught on the line by a gambled-on winner at Kempton last time, so provided she handles the fibresand, she should go close from the same mark. Major Rowan made a winning debut for John Davies over 14f here last time and commands respect again, along with Sofias Number One.
