Plenty in with chances here but slight preference is for PLANTSITE, who has been running in better company, finishing third in a $10k claimer over six and a half furlongs at Santa Anita latest. He's proved himself over this trip and the drop in class should enable him to get his head in front. One Vote also drops in class and could be the one for the exacta, while Father Jones and Capt. Joe Blow should be thereabouts.
Leedstheway has turned in a string of good efforts in claimers, culminating in a 1m win here in a $16k claimer last week. However, he might find one too good here in C S I IOWA, a close third in this grade here last month and placed in a tougher contest over C&D three starts ago. Lesson In Deceit looks best of the rest.
This should go to the progressive SABINO STORM. He's made excellent progress since the turn of the year, only going down by a neck in a similar contest over seven and a half furlongs here last month. He can go one better tonight. Valid Thoughts has been campaigning in this grade but needs to raise his game and Highdrum, who showed plenty of promise on his debut in this grade, could be the one for the exacta.
Since landing a $30k maiden optional claimer here a year ago, Malone Slam has been running in better races and must be given a chance dropped to this grade. Farmer Giles has some decent form in much better races and has sound claims here but preference is for HI HO CAHILL, who broke his duck with victory in a $30k maiden optional claimer over 5f here. He hasn't been out since last March but is open to plenty of improvement after just three runs and might not need to resume at his best to land this.
Buds N Roses and Hello Harriet were a close second and third in a similar contest over seven and a half furlongs here last time and look sure to contest the finish again. They've had their chances, however, and it might pay instead to side with the fourth in that race, MORE MISS NOIRE. She was barely a length behind her rivals despite being forced to race wide and was closing at the finish. Over this longer trip and with plenty of improvement likely after just three starts, she could take all the beating.
LA MALINCHE looks the one to beat here. She has been running consistently well of late and a repeat of her second over track and trip last time may well be good enough. Touch Of Elegance looks the most likely danger dropping in grade, while Alfawnsoul is certainly no forlorn hope.
SOPRANO SECTION showed a likeable attitude when striking over 7 1/2f here last time and she will prove tough to beat if in the same mood tonight. Accountable Diva went down by a narrow margin at the track latest and should go close once again, while Jo's Finale is another to consider dropped in class.
OAK FLAT certainly wasn't stopping when landing the spoils over 5 1/2f here last time and she could take some stopping in her bid to follow up. Shesourkindagal has been knocking on the door recently and should give another good account, while Jadie Cahill is worthy of consideration lowering her sights.
ALTURAS didn't have to come out of second gear when opening her account over 6 1/2f here last month and, with further improvement likely, she can complete the double. Peaknatacat has won three of her last four starts and is unlikely to go down without fighting, while Stormy Crystal is another with claims.
