PITON PETE arrives here with an official rating of 125, having made the frame in all four starts over hurdles to date. If the son of Westerner runs to that level this afternoon then he will be hard to beat. Shalakar has displayed plenty of promise on his last two starts and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection. Flynnvincible and Pull Together could both pick up some minor money as well.
SHALAKAR has finished third in similar events at Ludlow on his last two outings and his useful Flat ability provides hope for better still in this sphere. Piton Pete should have little difficulty coping with the step back to 2m and is feared most ahead of the Stuart Edmunds-trained Pull Together.

SKIPPING ON won well over 2m here last week and he arrives here 7lb well in because he does not have to carry a penalty today, so is taken to follow up. Wood Pigeon is another who arrives here on the back of a victory and a 3lb rise for that success appears to be very lenient on the nine-year-old. The Bay Birch filled second place on his debut for these connections and he can pick up some more prize money this afternoon.
SKIPPING ON escapes a penalty for his win over this C&D under this rider last week and has obvious claims if this doesn't come too soon. Wood Pigeon was a good winner on his fourth start for this yard at Fakenham last time and is feared most.

Tommy Rapper finally got off the mark when beating Book Of Gold in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster last month but he wouldn't be one to completely rely on having been beaten the time before when also an odds-on favourite over this C&D. Preference, therefore, goes to a stable companion of the horse Dan Skelton's gelding beat last time in the shape of SEASTON SPIRIT. The son of Kayf Tara won well on hurdles debut at Fontwell when shaping as though a step up in trip and a stiffer track would both bring about improvement. DONTMINDDBOYS has won two of his last three and this consistent nine-year-old has been found another nice opening here by Robin Dickin. In the first three in 10 of his last 12 starts, the son of Portrait Gallery has gone well off similar marks in the past and could have too much know-how for Big Time Frank, who outran lofty 50-1 odds here to finish third a week ago, and Leith Hill Legasi, who didn't quite stay an extra two furlongs at Fontwell last month.
DONTMINDTHEBOYS has been a model of consistency this season, and scored for the second time when bagging a Leicester handicap last month. Still fairly treated, he can go in again. Big Time Frank and Leith Hill Legasi may give him most to think about.

STIFF DOCTOR ran his best race to date for Alan Phillips when fourth here last week and this step up in trip could spark further improvement from the eight-year-old, who also has the services of Sean Bowen on board once more. Basford Ben won well at Huntingdon on Boxing Day, though he seemed to struggle off a 7lb higher mark over course and distance seven days ago and eventually refused to jump the 14th hurdle, while Fearsome Friend has been running consistently and could be thereabouts.
GONNABEGOOD was in good form over hurdles prior to his chase debut, and he appears the most solid option in a race where many have questions to answer. Silent Doctor would have a chance if building on his latest effort, while Brother Norphin may yet do better for this yard.
