POWERFUL SYMBOL jumped well when winning over C&D in December and is worth monitoring in the betting now debuting for a new stable. An 8lb rise appears workable for the selection, who has cheekpieces refitted to accompany the tongue-tie which was equipped last time. Nightline was runner-up behind the selection in December and is weighted to take closer order, while Washed Ashore could appreciate the return to 3m after running in the Durham National.

Mr Mix failed to give his running when pulling up in the Badger Ales Trophy but commands respect now dipping his toes into calmer waters. Small-field races like this have the propensity to become tactical, however, so it might be worth siding with DINGO DOLLAR, who helped force the tempo when scoring in style from Baden in a handicap at Newbury latest. He reopposes the second on similar terms and may improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces.

Secret Investor ran well behind another Albert Bartlett possible, Chef Des Obeaux, over 3m at Kempton latest and looks the main danger ahead of the improving Gowiththeflow.

Clondaw Native, Gunfleet and Sir Will all arrive in winning form and have definite chances as they bid to score again, while Dueling Banjos is certainly no forlorn hope back over the smaller obstacles. Preference, however, is for the Jonjo O'Neill-trained CAKE DE L'ISLE. He stuck on all the way to the line when a half-length second over the extended 2m3f here last time and might well improve for a subsequent wind operation.
