This looks a good opportunity for RED NOT BLUE to make it two from two over fences. A runner-up off 130 over hurdles in April, his first foray into chasing yielded a facile success over 2m6f at Hereford and there could be plenty more to come from him in this sphere. Shoegazer is more experienced over larger obstacles and impressed when routing his rivals at Hexham in May, so looks the biggest threat if bouncing back from being pulled up at Perth last month. Danimix rates best of the remainder.
Shoegazer and Red Not Blue are useful novices for the time of year and probably the pair to focus on, with narrow preference for the former. Dais Return should also figure if on a 'going' day back from a break.

An open contest but it could pay to give another chance to OTTO QUERCUS, who was clear and looked the most likely winner when falling three out at Catterick in January. Given plenty of time to recover, he is capable of defying top weight with a clear run. The Grey One won well at Hereford last month and an 8lb rise is unlikely to prevent another bold bid, while The Lemonpie found only one too good at that venue latest and looks a solid each-way bet. Another to consider is Le Grand Chene, who failed to justify favouritism by a short head last time out.
The Lemonpie has been running respectably over hurdles of late and he can make a winning start to life over fences. Sheepclose and Le Grand Chene both make some appeal at the foot of the weights.

C&D winner Ginger's Lad is edging back to a fair mark and rates a serious threat, along with Morenito, who continues to knock on the door.
Avanos begins his chase career on a very good mark, but whether this step up in trip will suit is up for debate, so the unexposed Ballybough Gorta is preferred. Ginger's Lad completes the shortlist.

MOLAISE LAD posted a career best effort when third in maiden company at Sligo in May and although he's pitched into selling grade on his first start for a new yard, he'd take all of the beating if reproducing that level of form at this level. Kingdom Of Munster's efforts around 2m earlier in the year suggest he's capable of running to his mark and, as such, he's entitled to go well if improving for this stiffer test. Railway Rico pulled-up over fences last month but is another to consider back over the small obstacles.
Railway Rico should fare better now returned to hurdles in refitted headgear and gets the nod ahead of Kingdom of Munster and Father Shine.

There may well be more to come from Johnathen de Giles' representative and he merits shortlist inclusion along with Easter Lad, who debuts for Jim Best in first-time blinkers.
Billy Blade has improved markedly of late, and looks capable of shrugging off a penalty for his Worcester win in mid-week. Benmadigan appeals as a danger with Fearghal Davis taking over from a 10-lb claimer, while Deed of Gift is one of several to monitor in the market.

SPATE RIVER was returning from a long absence when third over 2m at Towcester last time and it was likely the lack of a recent run more than stamina that saw him fade close home. A 2m5f winner over timber in the past, he's shown enough previously to justify an interest now granted this stiffer test. Stop The Show is now 8lb higher than when runner-up at Worcester last month but has place claims along with Safe Investment, who could strip fitter for his last run over fences.
Spate River has not stood much racing in recent times but made a pleasing-enough reappearance in May, and is capable of taking advantage of his current mark if building upon that. Bottom-weight Hathamore and Stop The Show are feared most.

Comingthrotherye sets the standard of those with previous form, but the powerful yards of David Pipe and Nicky Henderson both saddle well-related newcomers here and the latter's Springinherstep is just preferred to the former's Molly Oscar. Amaal is another newcomer to note.
