Verdict

MAMASITA has very good local form. It may seem as if she is better on the poly but her one turf run here was in the Grade 1 Woolavington and she was always going to battle from the widest draw. NATIONAL CHIMES was a convincing second first time over ground and if brings the form to the turf track should go well and hold off EVA TIBBS again. The latter had to ease last time.

Verdict

DE LA RIO may finally score his maiden. He lost a race on objection after hanging earlier but should find this smaller field easier to navigate. NISHAC has proven stamina though and only a few points behind DE LA RIO on merit ratings. He should make a race of it. Verdict

BATTLE HAMMER showed himself to be a decent stayer finishing well clear of YOUR WORSHIP and DISCOURSE on Gold Cup day. On that form he should be hard to beat at the weights but has yet to win here. He has run well here of late though. GO GOLD raids from the Highveld and could be the joker in the pack. He wants a decent pace. JAMAL drops in class but extends in trip.

Verdict

Two unbeaten fillies meet here: COSMIC LIGHT and MARK MY CARD. Both fillies could be anything and both come from off the pace. COSMIC LIGHT though won a feature at Greyville last and is part of a four-way coupling and looks the stable elect on riding arrangements.
