COMEDY NIGHT sets a fair standard and could get his head in front on his seventh start. He has been running creditably on fast ground of late, though his chances would weaken if the ground were to deteriorate. Shine Likeadiamond could take advantage if the selection fails to handle conditions as she has improved with every run and wouldn't need to step up much to figure here. Belledesert similarly rates as a danger, along with Cloudy Girl, who could build on her debut run in a contest far better than this.

His improved form has coincided with the fitting of a visor, in which he now boasts form figures of 211. If the retained headgear continues to have a positive effect, he could defy a 4lb rise to go in again. Catalinas Diamond is a consistent sort in this grade and likes it here, so could be the one to pick up the pieces if the selection's winning run is halted. Electric Qatar looks best of the rest.

A 5lb rise for her nose victory at Windsor suggests Magical Daze needs to raise her game if she's to land a treble. Glastonberry, Lightning Charlie and Secret Spirit are all reliable sorts who should run their races but they may all have to go some to beat the rapid LADY GEMINI. The daughter of Myboycharlie was highly-tried as a juvenile and ended the campaign with a solid run at Sandown, when beaten less than three lengths by subsequent Group 3 winner Waady. That form suggests her present mark of 75 is exploitable and she's expected to step up on her subsequent comeback run at Thirsk.

VALMINA took advantage of a sliding mark to resume winning ways at Ffos Las recently, and makes plenty of appeal from just a 1 Ib higher mark, so he can follow up. Penalised pair ROCK LOBSTER and Thames Knight are probably the ones to focus on after clashing at Haydock on their penultimate starts. Although the latter finished one place ahead of the selection in third that day, Ed Dunlop's charge was more impressive when recording his last-time-out victory once cheekpieces were applied at Chelmsford City and he's therefore taken to reverse the form. Azure Amour made all to win over C&D two runs ago and is another for the shortlist.

Goldslinger failed in his hat-trick bid at Newmarket last time but that was a better race than this and he's expected to make his presence felt in this company. FAST PICK has been keeping good company in maidens and appeared to appreciate the step up to 1m4f last time. A further step up in trip is expected to suit and a mark of 65 looks workable. Cape Rosie could also benefit from this step up in trip given she's out of Ebor runner-up Rosika.
