CLAY HOLLISTER was a facile winner of a bumper on his Fontwell debut but then ran inexplicably badly when tailed off in a better race at Kempton. He must be better than that and is given a tentative vote to make a successful hurdling debut here. Quiver Hill is another hurdling debutant, having shown plenty of promise behind the useful Vivona Hill at Wetherby with the rest well beaten off. This is his first run for his new stable. A competitive contest sees the useful Wind Instrument concede weight all round on his seasonal return to action. He looked a really progressive sort last term but this is a tough ask under topweight. The unexposed EARTH CRYSTAL is a fascinating contender after just a single run for the Henderson/McCoy team. He could be anything and might just be worth chancing here. At The Money battled on well to win at Market Rasen and Andy Turnell holds a decent hand with Shannon Springs and Lordsbridge.

Cheating Chance has made a most impressive return to fences this term and looked a much improved performer when running out an emphatic 6l winner from Psychomodo at Ascot. Araldur is improving with every run but this looks by far his most difficult task to date.

MASTER MINDED produced a display that almost defied superlatives when quite literally hacking up in the 2008 Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. He will win if repeating that level of form. but it would not be a surprise to see him pushed closely by Tidal Bay, the Arkle Trophy winner. The latter has the benefit of a run this season when winning easily at Carlisle and he could turn into something special. Last year's winner, Twist Magic, looks next best.
