Over The Creek finished a creditable second in the Peter O'Sullevan Chase on his latest outing at the Cheltenham Festival in March last year and he would be interesting if attracting any market support here, but ALDERLUCK is race-fit and gets the vote. Nick Gifford's gelding produced his best effort yet when touched off by the useful Trenchant at Kempton just under five weeks ago and today's testing underfoot conditions shouldn't cause any problems. This year's Fred Winter Hurdle winner, Silk Affair, is likely to have improved for her comeback run at Cheltenham and cannot be ruled out.
A tricky race to assess, with several on their way back from injury. In the circumstances, it looks safest to side with the lightly-raced Alderluck, a good second on his handicap bow last time and likely to appreciate this stiffer test. Magnifico is also in cracking form and could go well despite being out of the weights, while Nycteos figures on a handy mark if fit and well.

SONOWYOUNO is unbeaten in two starts since joining the Jonjo O'Neill camp and will be strongly fancied to complete the hat-trick today. He stepped up on a game Aintree success to score readily at Lingfield just short of one month ago and he should be able to concede weight to these rivals. There was plenty to like about Master Of The Hall's only 'bumper' performance at Sandown last month and he could go close first time over hurdles, while Henry Hook looks best of the remainder.
Master of The Hall is clearly held in high regard having been sent off a warm order in a decent bumper last month. He is sure to do better in time, but at this stage Sonowyouno is taken to complete the hat-trick.

Only four runners but a fascinating contest nonetheless. CRACK AWAY JACK, fourth in last season's Champion Hurdle, made an impressive chasing debut over this C&D last month and Emma Lavelle's classy representative has the potential to go right to the the top of the chasing ranks. Tchico Polos has plenty to find with that rival on hurdles ratings but he was impressive over fences at Exeter over 2m2f last month and is already looking much better over larger obstacles than he was over hurdles. Both Somersby and First Point were classy over hurdles and impressed on their respective chasing debuts so they also command utmost respect.
All of the quartet were successful last time, but there's a doubt whether First Point and Tchico Polos possess the same potential as the other 2. Crack Away Jack was the best of them over hurdles, but he'll probably be at cramped odds for one whose jumping has still to be put to the test and the value alternative is Somersby, a real chasing type.

A select field and a high-quality renewal despite the absence of the reigning champion two miler. BIG ZEB came within a head of upsetting Master Minded at the Punchestown Festival last April, having developed into a top-class sort during the season. His jumping was cause for concern at times but he's a highly talented individual and made a winning start this time around when winning hard held at Navan. Well Chief's injury problems have been well documented but his recent Cheltenham success suggests he remains out of the top draw. Last season's Arkle victor, Forpadydeplasterer, and the talented but inconsistent Twist Magic are preferred in that order for the placing.
Twist Magic is a smooth operator over these fences, having won well on 2 of his 3 visits (travelling well behind Master Minded when falling 2 out in this last year on other), and this is probably the best day to catch him. Well Chief and Big Zeb are top-class rivals, but the former faces an acid test of his current ability here, while the latter can throw in the odd blunder.

Overstrand landed this contest back in 2006 and followed up by landing a valuable handicap at Ascot three months later. However, he did not visit the winners' enclosure again until scoring with plenty in hand at Market Rasen last month. He's been raised 11lb for that success and his yard is red-hot but WILLIAM HOGARTH is narrowly preferred. The former Ballydoyle inmate has yet to score over timber but has been competing in high-quality novice hurdles and could be leniently treated for his handicap bow. Bruslini could go well off bottom weight with conditions likely to be very testing.
Overstrand is bidding for a remarkable hat-trick here, having won the corresponding race in 2003 and 2006, and he must have strong claims with his stable flying right now (6 winners from last 14 runners). Pepite de Soleil will appreciate the drop back in trip and has a touch of class, while the novice William Hogarth could also go well under Tony McCoy.

Erics Charm acts well here and can be expected to come on a great deal for his Wincanton reappearance last month. He is shortlisted along with Hennessy who landed the Bet365 Gold Cup over this C&D back in April. However, KILBEGGAN BLADE has won this race for the past two years and can complete the hat-trick. He is 1lb higher in the ratings than when winning this race 12 months ago but actually carries 3lb less due to the presence of Rambling Minster.
This has doubtless been the target for Kilbeggan Blade for some time, but he's not been in much form since last year's success. With that in mind, Rambling Minster looks the one to side with, given he will be fit from his warm-up race at Haydock. Russian Trigger will be a threat if his jumping holds up.
