Insan's daughter SILVER KATE improved a fair bit for her hurdles debut at Worcester when slamming Aldertune and nine others over course and distance in similar testing ground 10 days ago. She should make a strong bid to follow up, having previously run run well in all four of her 'bumpers', including when third to Tataniano here last autumn. Sherwani Wolf won two of his three 'bumpers' - the second success coming over an extended 2m here. He will be dangerous if taking to the jumps. Victory Parade has a bit on his plate conceding weight all round, but stays well and would have done better at Ffos Las last time but for clouting the last two.
Victory Parade ought to be thereabouts but the 2 that make most appeal are Silver Kate and Sherwani Wolf. Given the latter may not appreciate such a test of stamina on his hurdling bow, the former is selected to defy her penalty.

Flight Leader hit a purple patch over hurdles in the 2006/07 season when winning here and twice at Cheltenham. That campaign culminated in a good fourth of 20 to Wichita Lineman in the Brit Insurance over 3m at Cheltenham and he has run well enough in both starts over fences to suggest he can blossom soon. BESHABAR won a Grade 3 handicap hurdle at Sandown in March of last year to confirm the promise of his earlier runs and is fancied to go well despite a long lay-off. He is out of a Buckskin mare and will probably relish the muddy conditions. Synchronised won on his recent chase debut at Market Rasen to take his tally to four wins from seven starts and he merits plenty of respect.
There should be plenty of future winners in this line-up, with Beshabar potentially the most interesting. Synchronised sets the standard on form over fences, however, and receives the vote with the prospect of more to come. Ballydub will be a danger if over his initial experience over fences.

THE BEGRUDGER, owned by the Paul Barber-Harry Findlay partnership associated with Denman amongst others, looks a useful recruit to the Paul Nicholls stable judged on a couple of fluent point-to-point wins in Ireland. He seems to have plenty of stamina and could be hard to beat over this three miles. Quintero was a shade disappointing in a novices' hurdle at Southwell last month, but looks the type to improve. Strategic Approach ran well enough in a maiden hurdle (2m 4f) here last time to suggest he can win before long and his stable is in decent form now. Inside Dealer looks best of the remainder.
Neither Bally Sands nor Strategic Approach should have any trouble winning a race of this nature, but for the moment they may have to play second fiddle to the promising Paul Nicholls-trained newcomer The Begrudger, unbeaten in couple of Irish points earlier this year.

A tricky handicap in which a chance is taken that MONT PRESENT can find the necessary improvement. The Hobbs yard seems to be getting into its stride and the selection, who had only to be pushed out to land a conditional jockeys' hurdle at Fontwell 13 months ago, is entitled to be sharper for last month's comeback at that track. He has the mould of a chaser. Super Formen looked to be going well enough in Exmoor Ranger's handicap chase at Newbury last time until unseating his rider after the 13th, so he enters the equation along with Exeter winner Bertie May and top-weight Oiseau De Nuit.
Front-running Babe Heffron improved over fences in the spring and, having made a pleasing return, looks the hare to catch if he ends up running here rather than Wetherby. Qhilimar was upsides the winner 2 out when coming to grief at Cheltenham last time and poses a big threat despite the drop in trip. Each-way backers are directed towards Massini Sunset.

Tom Scudamore is riding with plenty of confidence these days and his mount, HERONS WELL, stayed on strongly to take a 2m 6f handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time off what was possibly a lenient mark. Cross Kennon took a Uttoxeter handicap last time at the chief expense of Silver Bay to take his tally to four wins from his last five outings. The handicapper just can't seem to wrestle him to the ground and he looks a prime candidate for a place, at least. Outlaw Tom looked a progressive sort when last seen at Uttoxeter last May (third of 15 to Dreamy Sweeney). He was on the mark at Warwick the time before and is very lightly raced.

The market could provide some worthwhile clues, but it will be no surprise if Nigel Twiston-Davies' newcomer FRONTIER SPIRIT is one of the front-runners in the betting. He is in the same ownership as Frontier Dancer who won his 'bumper' at Uttoxeter last year and is now a useful handicapper over hurdles. Full Of Joy, a promising second in a Market Rasen 'bumper' last month, will be doing his best to capitalise on his edge in racing experience. Others to consider include Colin Tizzard's newcomer Ceepeegee, as well as the Venetia Williams-trained M'Lord Bishop - another seeing a racecourse for the first time. Both are well enough bred for the job.
Full of Joy is easily the pick of those with experience and should win unless any of the newcomers prove useful, in particular M'Lord Bishop and Frontier Spirit, both of whom hail from top yards which do well in bumpers.
