AINCHEA was successful over C&D back in December and he confirmed that was no fluke by finishing third in a Listed event at Cheltenham at the beginning of last month. That performance came when the yard were under a bit of a cloud but they are running much better now. Countister bumped into a useful mare on her UK debut and she won well on her next start, while Arthington has to be respected given his consistency.

CEPAGE was only denied by half a length on his seasonal return in November and a 1lb rise in the ratings for that effort appears to be more than fair. The likely soft conditions should not be a problem for him given his French form and his rider takes a valuable 3lb off today. Gino Trail bumped into an in-form and well handicapped rival over C&D last month and he should be in the mix once again. Top Gamble should appreciate this drop in grade, while Dolos is talented enough to go well but needs to bounce back from a poor effort last time out.

It is impossible to oppose BUVEUR D'AIR, who should take this mediocre event on his way back to defending his Champion Hurdle crown in March. This race has been very lucky for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede given that they have owned the last three winners and they have another strong chance with Terrefort. The five-year-old bolted up in a handicap on his UK debut and he looks to have a very bright future ahead of him. That said, the preference is for CYRNAME, who arrives here having won a Grade 2 at Kempton over the Christmas period. The step up in trip is a slight concern, given that he can be a bit free early on, but soft ground on a right-handed track is ideal for him. All of the rest have chances but No Comment is the most interesting of them given that he is making his chasing debut in Grade 1 company.

Melrose Boy did it as he was entitled to at Fontwell last time out and he could still be fairly treated off a mark of 135. He had been well found in the market at the time of writing and it is easy to see why, but this is a competitive contest on paper with plenty of value to be had. Topofthegame wasn't beaten far in the Lanzarote last time out, a route that was used by last year's winner Lord Of The Island. Fergal O'Brien runs Okotoks, but he struggled on stable debut, while of more interest is King Of Fashion, who is bound to find improvement having switched from Ian Duncan to Kerry Lee. Preference here, however, is for DASHING PERK, who hurdled fluently and won easily at Wincanton last time out. The seven-year-old could be well handicapped off 127 given his bumper form last season, which was closely matched with the likes of Claimantakinforgan, Lalor and Western Ryder, and soft ground will pose no issues for Dr Richard Newland's charge.

Miss Adventure rattled the crossbar over 2m in a novice hurdle at Plumpton on heavy ground last month and is expected to step up on that effort now upped in distance and switched to handicaps. Preference, however, is for PALMERS HILL, who landed a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter in October and was far from disgraced in a warm novice hurdle behind Count Meribel at Ascot last time. Colonial Dreams is on a workable mark for Nicky Henderson and could also take a hand.
