Philip Aristone has a really strong hand here with It Certainly Is and GOOD GALE and the latter is of most interest. She has been running well in much stronger company and appears to have been found a reasonable opportunity in which to open her account. Maria's Victory, beaten favourite over a route trip here last month, could also make the frame.
Just A Lady's Man has every chance on his third over 7f on his penultimate outing but isn't one to rely on and preference is for MR. VOLPONI, who raised his game when touched off over 6 1/2f in this grade here latest and there could be more to come. Newcomers Ordonez and Three Piece would be of interest if popular in the betting.
SONOTHEMORNINGSTAR steps up in class following his victory over a similar trip at Penn National but he could take some beating if in the same mood this evening. Firebrook is better than his latest run suggests and has obvious claims if back on song, while Valleyman is respected dropping in grade.
Despite proving a touch frustrating for supporters, SWEET SUGAR has the form to take this and is given the vote to open his account at the seventh time of asking. Oopers Here has filled the runner-up spot in each of his last two starts and looks sure to go close again, with Gran Manolo also respected.
Billow Talk is likely to prove popular here as she bids to complete a hat-trick of victories, but this represents a slight step up in class and preference is for the downgraded VALS POWER. She has six course wins to her name and is one from four over this trip. Itsacelebration might prove next best.
SQUARE ONE was much too strong when winning comfortably over 7f here last month and, if he returns in the same form tonight, it will take a decent performance to lower his colours. The main danger is sure to come from Jack Sparrow, who also won well here last time, with Joejoebugs another not to be discounted.
Pride Park and RAYOS Y TRUENOS both shaped with considerable promise when second and third on their respective racecourse debuts at this venue last month and both look up to winning a race of this nature in due course. The token selection on this occasion is Richard Vega's charge, who is expected to enjoy the step up in trip. Edgeofperfection is a bit more exposed but cannot be written off.
Little between a few of these but the vote goes to FLY SO FAR who has been knocking on the door in stronger company of late and seems sure to go very close in this company. Golden Rainbow and Mindy's Peak are others who come into this in good form, so they could be worth considering for any combination bets.
BANJO PICKER was below par when seventh in a similar track and trip event here in March, but he had been running really well prior to that and could be able to bounce back to form having been given a short break. Sonvida Red and Primal Peak are the most obvious dangers.
AWESOME CHANCE was always in command when winning over 1m here last time and he makes plenty of appeal as he bids to follow up. He can win again at the main expense of recent track and trip third Boldnbrave and Smokin the Wind.
