The step up to this trip looks a good move and he can go one better now. Number One London has made a highly encouraging start to his career over timber and is the logical danger. It's hard to see the remainder troubling the aforementioned pair, but Drop A Gear is the pick of the bunch.

Former smart Flat performer Laajooj commands the utmost respect on his hurdles debut, but he has been on the sidelines for 913 days and is entitled to strip fitter for the run. Preference is for TEMPO MAC, who came up short at the Galway Festival, although he still held a chance until a mistake two out. If he can recapture the level of his comfortable Cartmel success, he will take plenty of stopping. Ronaldinho has been in decent nick and also enters calculations, along with Lady Clitico.

Top Tip: Tempo Mac (1)
Watch out for: Laajooj (3)

LAAJOOJ hasn't been seen for a while but was smart on the Flat earlier in his career and could be a class apart sent hurdling for a yard which has dominated the novice division this season. Tempo Mac has to give a lot of weight away but should still go well, while Lady Clitico would have gone close here last time but for a mistake at the last.

David Pipe's six-year-old shaped with plenty of promise on his chasing debut at Worcester but didn't get home over 2m7f so, with that experience under his belt, he can land the spoils now eased in distance. Enchanted Garden arrives in winning form and isn't opposed lightly, and Nearest The Pin should also give a good account.
