AMADEUS WOLFE TONE is threatening to land a decent handicap and looks on a fair mark. Only beaten a couple of lengths in a fair Haydock contest last time, he's well worth another chance with Jamie Spencer expected to swoop late. Unex Annigoni is impossible to assess accurately on the basis of a cosy Doncaster maiden success in the context of this contest but he's very much the sort his trainer excels with and significant improvement is anticipated. Sardanapalus is much better than he showed last time and merits respect along with Afaal, to whom the same comments apply.
Competitive fare and plenty of possible winners. Equation of Time has been gelded since his last run and the promise of his maiden win shouldn't be forgotten. He can make a winning start for his new yard, with Afaal and Johnno looking best of the rest.

Those towards the head of the weights appear to have plenty to do for one reason or another and CREW CUT can supplement a recent Bath success when swooping fast and late. He appears on an upward curve and there could also be further progress to come as he remains relatively lightly-raced. Trojan Rocket, Avonmore Star and Close To The Edge have all been in winning form in recent weeks and are preferred in that order as the main dangers to the selection. My Son Max (engaged to run at Newmarket last night) is interesting dropped to this trip for the first time for nearly two years.
Quasi Congaree looked as though he might be on the way back last time and can capitalise on a good mark at a track he has gone well at in the past. Crew Cut, Expose and Soap Wars could chase him home.

RHAGORI looks interesting off the bottom rung for Ralph Beckett. She progressed with each juvenile run and shaped promisingly on her Newbury reappearance when fourth in a competitive large-field handicap. The step up to a mile will suit and she's preferred to Tea Cup. The latter needs to improve after landing an ordinary Chepstow affair but the style of that success was rather taking and further improvement is expected. Ariyfa and Love Your Looks are admirably consistent and merit consideration despite heading the weights, whilst Punita is the dark horse of the race and necessitates a market check ahead of her return.
Punita is open to stacks of improvement after just one run and can maintain her unbeaten record in a competitive event. Rhagori and Love Your Looks may prove best of the rest.

Tioman Pearl strode away to win with any amount in hand on his handicap debut at Windsor for which he's been hoisted a massive 18lb. That was his first attempt at the minimum trip and he could well be still comfortably ahead of the handicapper but we'll stay with BARTOLOMEU on this occasion. The Botti colt continues to progress with every race and ran a cracker here last time when going down by a head to the equally progressive Mince. He's up 3lb for that but still makes considerable appeal. Annie Beach and Miliika spice up an interesting race further.
Some promising 3-y-os on show here, though the style of Tioman Pearl's Windsor victory marked him down as a useful sprinter in the making. The fillies Annie Beach and Miliika look the main dangers.

Follow the market is probably the best advice with a paucity of information to assess, especially with Shebebi, the only one to have seen the racecourse, looking vulnerable. Godolphin fire a triple salvo with CHESTERFIELD looking preferred on jockey bookings. He's a hopeful choice. Harry Bosch and Makafeh represent yards whose juveniles usually improve notably for the run and Royal Challis could be a more likely sort hailing from the Hannon juvenile army. Tropical Song represents a yard that enjoys plenty of first-time-out winners whilst the market should inform regarding Yellow Mountain and Zain Eagle.
Richard Hannon has landed this race on 4 occasions previously and Royal Challis can be expected to be ready to do himself justice on debut. Of the other first-timers, Tropical Song and Chesterfield could emerge as the main contenders.

MOODHILL looked a useful sort when making a good-looking debut in a back-end maiden at Newmarket last October, going down by half a length to Better Announce. It is a slight concern that he hasn't been seen since but that run does set the standard. Hopefully, the market will reflect his wellbeing. Jack Of Diamonds is the most exposed performer on view but has some decent performances under his belt in useful maiden company and represents the obvious each-way option. Twin Shadow is a potential improver, whilst Keeping Time and Estebsaal are interesting newcomers who demand a market check.
Jack of Diamonds and Moodhill appeal most of those with experience but it might be worth taking a chance on the well-bred Keeping Time making a winning debut for Sir Henry Cecil.

Caption, Marshgate Lane and Afraah hail from leading yards and the market should be informative but as things stand they are preferred in that order. Gravitate has shown promise on both starts but was slightly disappointing last time and Alraased showed enough on his Newmarket debut last October in a typical course maiden to warrant attention too. However, TOUCH GOLD has more experience than all the aforementioned and is almost certain to benefit from dropping back to a mile after showing a decent level of ability the last twice at Leicester and especially at Newbury. Pearl War isn't discounted either.
Those with experience could be vulnerable to some well-bred newcomers here, with Afraah a tentative selection ahead of Marshgate Lane and Caption.

A competitive finale but in a field of primarily exposed handicappers, ARMOISE looks a possible exception. The Sadler's Wells filly has only had six outings in three seasons and continues to shape like a progressive performer with each run. She ran a fine fourth in a Sandown handicap last time on the back of an absence of over seven months and has every chance here if not 'bouncing'. The consistent Sugar Hiccup must be included in calculations, whilst both Kian's Delight and Maio Chinn Tire have scored over the jumps recently and are clearly in good heart.
Several of these are returning from stints over hurdles, with none in better form than Kian's Delight, Mickael Barzalona a fascinating jockey booking for Peter Bowen's gelding. Sugar Hiccup and Dubai Glory should be thereabouts, though they both may have to make do with minor honours again.
