RUNNINGLIKETHEWIND fetched 12,000gns at the Tattersalls Sales in November last year and the son of Hurricane Run could make that price tag look bargain-like on his racecourse debut this evening in what looks a below-average renewal. He's closely related to useful sorts Metaphoric (Listed winner), Crown Counsel and Meadaaf and, while Poetic Verse and Bix can benefit from some prior experience, a bold show is expected from the newcomer.
Not a strong maiden, with the twice-raced Bix taken to put his experience to good use. Spithead could well be a different proposition this time, though.

MAYO LAD is the highest rated and Richard Hannon's charge looks set to take full advantage of his weight-for-age allowance against his elders. The Holy Roman Emperor colt boasts some useful form in handicaps and wasn't disgraced in maiden company when bumping into the likes of Most Improved and Bonfire. He has something to prove over 1m but a return to better ground will suit and he seems to have plenty in his favour. Rock Anthem boasts C&D-winning form and is respected, along with Isingy Red.
This looks a good opportunity for the consistent Mayo Lad to get his head back in front. Soweto Star and the potentially well-treated Isingy Red are a couple of others for the shortlist.

Dalkova represents the potent Richard Hannon/Richard Hughes combination and the Galileo filly must enter calculations on the back of an improved Nottingham performance earlier this month. Signor Sassi shaped with promise in three starts as a juvenile but he's likely to need this first run for 292 days and it could be worth siding with STANDING STRONG. The 78-rated son of Green Desert had been knocking the door in maiden company before posting a lacklustre effort in a Sandown handicap latest but a combination of this better ground and the drop in class is taken to bring about a change in fortune.
Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and Signor Sassi, assuming her finishing burst is left a little later, should break her maiden tag. Standing Strong has the most solid form and is a danger whilst Modern Tutor will be popular for powerful connections.

Picansort fully deserves to get his head in front following a number of near-misses but he may have to settle for a minor role again tonight with REBECCA ROMERO fancied to deliver the goods. She is entitled to strip fitter for her comeback run at Kempton last month and it looks significant that Richard Hughes is back in the plate having been on board for each of her three career wins. Steelcut is well treated on the pick of his form and rates a lively outsider.
Little to separate a number of these but a chance is taken on Rebecca Romero, who was unsuited by the way the race developed at Kempton last time out and appeals as the type to do better now with Richard Hughes back in the saddle. Picansort, Estonia and Steelcut head the list of dangers.
