ROUND TOWER battled tremendously for one making his debut when scoring by a head at Down Royal in November. He is open to plenty of improvement now going hurdling and can remain unbeaten. Cest Notre Gris poses the greatest threat having finished in the frame on both of his starts over timber. Horse No Name, Rogue Trader and Mike Mccann are all capable of making an impact and take high rank on the shortlist too.

The quirky REPEATER was smart at best on the Flat and could be the type who'll be rejuvenated by the change of codes on debut for new connections. Stony Grey was also very capable on the level and is respected, while Cest Notre Gris offers the best form achieved over hurdles so far.

DANEKING put a lamentable reappearance behind him when shaping with much more zest at Punchestown over 2m4f, getting promoted from third to second in the stewards' room. The drop back to this trip is in his favour and this looks a good opportunity for him to regain the winning thread. Alderwood, twice a winner at the Cheltenham Festival, deserves plenty of respect, although he ideally needs further nowadays. Marinero got within hailing distance of Douvan earlier this month and should go close, but Shadow Catcher has looked a shadow of his former self of late and has a point to prove.

Watch out for: Marinero (4)

MARINERO fared well when beaten just 6¾ lengths behind Douvan in a Grade 2 at Punchestown last time and he may waste no time getting back to winning ways. Cheltenham Festival winmer Alderwood has been operating below his best of late, though faces his easiest task for some time, while Daneking got back on track at Punchestown last time and should appreciate the drop back in trip.

TRAVEL OGUE gets in under a light weight, though, and it could be that her recent success between the flags sparks a rejuvenated effort on her handicap debut. Josephine Marcus was deemed good enough to contest a Listed bumper here in November and she's another interesting contender taking to the handicap ranks for the first time.

High-class hurdler APACHE JACK couldn't justify joint-favouritism on his chase bow at Punchestown a fortnight ago but is entitled to strip sharper for that run and has been found a decent opening. Smokey Joe Joe is consistent but has plenty to find on the selection judged on their respective timber ratings, so Gilt Shadow, second in the Grade 1 Punchestown bumper in 2013, is feared most on his fencing introduction.

Watch out for: Gilt Shadow (5)

Useful-hurdler APACHE JACK showed plenty of promise when third on chasing bow at Punchestown 2 weeks ago. With that experience under his belt he can make amends at the second time of asking. Gilt Shadow hasn't been seen for a year though should have the aptitude for chasing, while Smokey Joe Joe usually runs his race and he shouldn't be too far away, for all he's still a maiden over fences.
