CILAOS EMERY has 3lbs to find with Daly Tiger on adjusted ratings but can give him 9lbs and win. Cilaos Emery is high class on his day and won the 2017 Pucnhestown Champion Hurdle but has raced just 14 times in all and just five times over fences. He was beaten for, effectively, the first time over fences at Clonmel in November (he fell at the first another time) but that was his reappearance and was giving the good winner 5lb. Fourth in last year's Cheltenham Champion Hurdle, Cilaos Emery remains a little unexposed over fences and is capable of bettering his lofty 163 rating. Daly Tiger has the big advantage of race-fitness and comes here proven on testing ground at this trip. He has made big strides in handicap chases and while he was a good winner of the Dan Moore Chase last month, he had previously failed to make an impact in open Graded company and might struggle to beat the selection. Kildorrery has won just once in 17 chase starts and will surely pick up third place while connections of Cafe Con Leche, which jumped poorly on debut, might be content with fourth prize.
CILAOS EMERY is still not fully exposed as a chaser and there's every chance he'll have too many gears for main market rival Daly Tiger, despite that one resuming his progress back down in trip last time.

SCHOOL BOY HOURS might win on handicap chase debut. A capable type, he has chased home high class horses in hot beginners chases in recent outings and while today's trip is possibly as sharp as he would want, he nonetheless should go well on handicap debut having had six previous chase outings. Enjoy D'allen is an obvious contender and being a big chasing type, has progressed very well in recent times. He has been penalised 9lbs for his latest win at Thurles and while he competes from a career high mark now, could well progress further and should give the selection a real race. Fully Charged doesn't appear a nature jumper but nonetheless ran a solid race when second over course and distance last month and can get involved for the placings. Ministerforsport continues with hit-and-miss form while Defi Bleu is tried in a first-time tongue-tie on handicap chase debut. Home By The Lee was reported to have burst blood vessels at Leopardstown latest.
ENJOY D'ALLEN is thriving on his racing at present, building on his course success in no uncertain terms at Thurles 32 days ago. He earns the vote to complete the hat-trick, while Defi Bleu, on handicap debut, and Home By The Lee, back in calmer waters, head up the dangers.

ECHOES IN RAIN might prove best in what looks a sub-par Grade 2 contest, with four-timer chasing Streets Of Doyen dropping markedly in trip. Free-going Echoes In Rain won easily at Naas in December and while soundly enough held in a Punchestown Grade 2 last month, did set a searching pace before managing a respectable fourth with today's similarly classed race, over an ideal trip which is shorter than two miles, appearing a lesser ask. Streets Of Doyen chases a four-timer in first-time cheek-pieces and while he has plenty ability, all his recent form has been at three-miles. Today is his first run since October and could act as a springboard to the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham. Desir Du Large is interesting given he reappears at Grade 2 level on his first run for 820 days. A good bumper winner when last seen, he has clearly met setbacks since and while now an 8yo, connections might feel his novice status is worth preserving on the chance he doesn't win at Graded level in the coming months. Razzle Dazzle Love is another free-going mare who has been running consistently well in recent times and while she is vulnerable to smart types, can get involved. Jesse Evans failed to compete at Grade 1 level recently but is a capable type who will appreciate today's drop in grade. Belfast Banter and Mighty Tom need to improve to win.
STREETS OF DOYEN continues to go from strength to strength for John McConnell and he's taken to complete an impressive 5-timer having made the most of another good opportunity at Cheltenham back in October. This represents a step up in grade but he can take it in his stride. Echoes In Rain rates as the main threat if she can learn to settle, with Razzle Dazzle Love next on the list.

Last Sunday's Navan hero Hugh Morgan again teams up with owner Liam Mulryan and trainer Denis Hogan with ZOFFANIEN and has solid claims. Zoffanien has shown good and consistent form in his five hurdle runs thus far and having finished second in a useful rated contest (which has produced the winners of the last two Fred Winter Hurdles) here recently, contests today's race from a 2lbs higher mark but with Morgan claiming a valuable 5lbs. Awkwafina beat the selection when causing a 100-1 upset to win at Limerick over Christmas and is clearly a contender. Awkwafina was subsequently well beaten in a hot winners' race at Fairyhouse last month and while the form is strong with runner-up Druid's Altar winning subsequently, Zoffanien did get slightly closer to Druid's Altar here at Naas 15 days ago, indicating Zoffanien might have an edge. Peckham Springs was himself a useful flat performer who has since progressed nicely in two hurdle runs, winning at Fairyhouse in December. He beat today's rival Toughari then and with further progression to be expected, should get involved at the business end.
A fairly useful maiden on the Flat (at around 1¼m), PECKHAM SPRINGS showed the benefit of his hurdling debut effort when getting off the mark over 2m at Fairyhouse in December. There's room for improvement in his jumping and he promises to do better again now his sights are set on handicaps. Perry Owens, down in trip, and Zoffanien are a couple of others to consider.

Subject to him being reasonably solid in the market PONT DU GARD could be worth chancing on his Irish debut. It's no great surprise to see Mark Walsh ride this fellow of the J P McManus pair, as it looks as though the selection's outing at Compiegne in France at the start of November 2019 was full of promise. Competing for the famed Guillaume Macaire yard then, by all accounts Pont Du Gard didn't jump with much fluency, but showed a real engine to finish off well in third, just missing out on second. His half-sister Pont Aval won at Punchestown recently. Their half-brother Pont Alexandre was a good horse. Unfortunately he didn't get to realise his full potential for Willie Mullins. Mullins now supplies a major player in Egality Mans, albeit off a 430 day break. Fourneux D'isanka, Salseros, Excelcius and Grand Axhe are others to take into account.
EGALITY MANS has a 14-month absence to overcome, but he made a highly encouraging hurdling debut at Limerick and is fancied to get the job done with improvement on the cards. Fourneux d'Isanka has displayed a fair level of ability in bumpers and should have a future in this sphere, while Pont du Gard is another interesting contender having shown ability on his sole outing in France in 2019.

It's fair to say massive hopes were held out for MICRO MANAGE after he impressed greatly with a Curragh success in June 2019. Wouldn't you know it with the world apparently at his feet then, he's been winless since. In fairness the chestnut has been sidelined for spells of 434 days and 104 days in the interim, and contested a Group Three trial for, and then the Irish Leger itself in 2020. If you were 'on' at even money at Leopardstown at Christmas you may be less forgiving, but surely Micro Manage is worth another chance on hurdle outing number two. Champion jockey Paul Townend rides now, and the fitting of a hood could make all the difference. Envious Editor, Genois and Great Bear are others for the shortlist.
MICRO MANAGE was lightly raced but smart on the Flat and showed more than enough promise to suggest he's well worth persevering with in this sphere when third at Leopardstown. Great Bear was way out of his depth in a Grade 1 3 weeks ago but rates the main threat back to a more suitable level, with Genois and Envious Editor best of the others.

The two Cheltenham Weatherbys Champion Bumper entrants, Highland Charge and GERRI COLOMBE, are likely the ones to focus in on. There's hardly a better point-to-point nursery out there than Colin Bowe's ideal site in County Wexford, and the Kiltealy operator may have set another top-notcher on the road here, in Gerri Colombe. The Lingstown victor could hardly have been any more impressive, beginning for current connections at Fairyhouse last month. He'll surely take a deal of beating, though in fellow Fairyhouse scorer, Highland Charge, he faces a worthy opponent. Gigginstown House Stud, who also have Forged In Fire (tongue-strap tried), could see any amount of progression from their promising Fame And Glory gelding. A decent contest might be in the offing should that be the case.
GERRI COLOMBE marked himself down as a good prospect with an impressive debut win at Fairyhouse and is as short as 12/1 for the Champion Bumper at the Festival next month. Highland Charge showed a good attitude to win first time out and is feared most ahead of Forged In Fire, who beat Champion Bumper winner Ferny Hollow on sole start last season but has disappointed over hurdles this term.
