All of these have claims but the vote goes to HIGH UP IN THE AIR, who arrives here on the back of a four-timer and a 6lb rise for the most recent of those wins may still underestimate him. Ashutor was a bit disappointing when well held here in September but it is far too soon to be writing him off. Anemoi won twice earlier in the season and may improve for first-time cheekpieces, while Duc De Beauchene certainly has some good form to his name.

It is hard to oppose MCFABULOUS following his easy victory in the rearranged Relkeel Hurdle at Kempton last month. Paul Nicholls' gelding remains progressive and he was far from disgraced when chasing home Thyme Hill and Paisley Park in the Long Distance Hurdle two starts ago, where three miles appeared to stretch his stamina. Cornerstone Lad was a bit disappointing over fences but he should not be discounted on his return to the smaller obstacles. Similar comments apply to Reserve Tank, while Brewin'upastorm returned to winning ways at Taunton last month and is another to consider.
