MAZEED holds a sizeable advantage on form and has an obvious chance. Securities and Al Madam can fight out minor honours.
Doug Watson holds a strong hand here, and the consistent TRIED AND TRUE is taken to come out on top and deservedly resume winning ways after stringing together a series of good runs. Galvanize is unexposed on dirt and is most appealing of the remainder, with Active Spirit another to consider having slipped to a workable mark.
It's perhaps worth forgiving ALAREEF a below-par run last time as he was poorly drawn and he can strike for the Mike de Kock team. Speedy Move wasn't at his best when last seen in November but is capable of bouncing back in blinkers, while Mutahaddith enhanced his good record over C&D when only narrowly denied by Alareef last month.
DARKENING had an excuse for his latest below-par run and might be worth siding with having dropped back down to the sort of mark he went close from towards the end of 2016. The manner in which Heraldic stayed on last time suggests he's worth this try up in trip and respected for Satish Seemar, while Dangerous Thought is likely to benefit from the step back up in trip and also makes the shortlist.
IJMAALY is very lightly raced for his age and looked ahead of his mark when having no luck in running over C&D last time, so he's taken to get off the mark for his new yard before making an impression in a higher grade. Philosopher, who has also been shaping up well, is the biggest danger, while the in-form Pupil shouldn't be far away.
MILTON showed improved form when opening his account for Ismail Mohammed over C&D recently, clearly appreciating the step back up in trip. He gets the nod to continue the good work in a competitive event, with Sheeba, Say No More and Moosir heading up the dangers.
ROOSSEY shaped well several times from this sort of mark last season, including over C&D, so he's a solid proposition having been working up his fitness on his last couple of starts. The relatively unexposed Shawaahid is next on the list, with Idler another one to consider in an open race.
