TESTIFY is fancied to give weight and a beating to these rivals. A progressive son of Witness Box, the six-year-old built on his second behind subsequent Grade 2 winner The Worlds End when bravely making all over 2m7f at Bangor and he is expected to have these rivals on their knees begging for mercy after grinding it out from the front again. Seemorelights confirmed his Kelso success to be no fluke when third at Musselburgh and he is very closely matched with the selection on official figures, while Chepstow scorer Imperial Bay needs to improve again and De Vous A Moi looks more effective over fences. All four have bits and pieces of chances, however, and it's a cracking race to kick things off.
IMPERIAL BAY appreciated the step up to 3m in testing conditions at Chepstow last month, finding plenty to outstay the runner-up (pair 30 lengths clear), so probable conditions shouldn't thwart his chance, and he likely has more to come on just his third start. Fairly useful chaser De Vous A Moi, who also goes well in the mud, may give him most to do receiving weight all round.

Teo Vivo had Sleepy Haven (second), Nuts Well (third) and Meadowcroft Boy (fifth) all behind when winning impressively at Kelso last month and he should be able to confirm placings with those rivals, while Vinciaettis possibly didn't get home over the extended 2m4f at Huntingdon when last sighted and can show improved form dropped in trip for his seasonal/handicap debut. However, the one who appeals most is RAISE A SPARK. He beat a well fancied horse in Beeno at Catterick recently and receiving 7lb and upwards off his main rivals could prove crucial with bottomless ground sure to make it a test.
VINCIAETTIS has been off the track since April, but has the potential to be better than this class of handicap, especially considering his bumper win, so is preferred to last-time-out winners Teo Vivo and Raise A Spark.

Former winners Milborough (2015) and Portrait King (2012) are both resolute stayers who arrive on the back of preparations over hurdles and the latter looks to have the stronger claims with Adam Short's 7lb claim likely to prove vital at the end of an arduous 4m1f. Shotgun Paddy is consistent in these staying chases and will have no issues with conditions along with the Kerry Lee's pair Russe Blanc and Mountainous, who will both be staying on when plenty have checked out. Preference, however, goes to KNOCKANRAWLEY, who ran with credit returning from a fair absence at Warwick when fifth behind leading Grand National contender One For Arthur and is on a fair handicap mark to strike with improvement to come from his last outing. Smooth Stepper is progressive and cannot be discounted, while Berea Boru could outrun his odds at a big price with his best form coming on heavy ground.
SHOTGUN PADDY's mark continues to slide despite running well in defeat and he is taken to go one place better having finished second in this race off 7 lb higher 12 months ago. Conditions will be ideal for Mountainous and he needs considering after a good second under this rider at Hereford last time, while Smooth Stepper makes the shortlist given his good record at this track.

THE NIPPER showed testing ground holds no fears when landing a heavy-ground novice hurdle at Lingfield last month and is narrowly preferred to Elusive Theatre, who posted a strong effort from the front in a maiden hurdle at Ayr last time and should be thereabouts if running to a similar level of form. Beyondtheflame has failed to complete on four of her last five starts and is rated 65 on official figures. Getting round would be something of a personal achievement for her.
THE NIPPER mightn't be the most straightforward, but she possesses a fair bit more ability than her one feasible rival, Elusive Theatre, so the selection should have little trouble following up her Lingfield success in a race that doesn't take much working out.

Special Wells has won his last two starts in the style of a progressive chaser and a 7lb rise for the most recent of those successes may still underestimate his ability. Caraline may be too high in the ratings at the moment but this heavy ground specialist could still pick up some minor prize money.
This looks wide open so MISTER SPRINGSPRONG, who has the benefit of a pair of return spins under his belt, could be worth chancing. Brian Ellison's charge possibly found the test too sharp at Catterick latest, and this looks a suitable assignment. Ballybolley is feared most ahead of Special Wells.

This is not a strong event to close the card but preference is for MCGOWAN'S PASS, who only found an above-average performer too good on his racecourse debut last month. He handled heavy ground well on that occasion and that boosts his claims. Carlos Du Fruitier won a nice bumper at Warwick last time out and he should be a threat despite his 7lb penalty, while Oscar Mor would be the pick of the remainder.
CARLOS DU FRUITIER responded well to a positive ride when making a winning bumper debut at Warwick last month, and holds sound follow-up claims under a penalty. McGowan's Pass is the obvious threat following a promising opening second, though Oscar Mor has more to offer (especially once tackling obstacles).
