Verdict

Ex-Irish pointer GEE DEE finished a country mile clear of the remainder when going down by a head to Bennynthejets in a maiden hurdle at Catterick last time and is taken to open his account in this sphere at the chief expense of Ellerslie Ali, who has shown more than enough in bumpers and on her hurdling bow at Newcastle to suggest that she'll pick up a race before long. It's hard to enthuse about the others, but market support for the newcomer Solar Rock could be interesting.

With King Mak being so unpredictable, this is best left to CARAMAN, whose latest effort wasn't particularly inspiring but this represents a significant drop in class. Admittedly, he's far from bombproof, but he will find few better opportunities than this to get off the mark over fences. If King Mak doesn't consent to put his best foot forward, Symbiosis may follow the selection home.

Verdict

Fortunate Isle has found one too good in each of his three starts and it could be that he will again have to play second fiddle with CRIPSEY BROOK in opposition. The latter is rated inferior to Richard Fahey's charge on the level but Fortunate Isle looks a suspect stayer and it could be that he will find Cripsey Brook too strong in the closing stages. Verdict

Luna Landing is the clear form pick on what he's achieved over hurdles and he must go close here. However, the concession of 8lb to FORT AMHURST, who was the higher rated of the pair on the Flat, may prove too much. Mick Easterby's representative failed to trouble the judge on his hurdling bow but shaped with plenty of encouragement and, with that experience to draw upon, is taken to open his account in this sphere today. A really competitive contest and none of the nine runners can be ruled out with any great confidence.
