Mick Channon won this race last year with The Thrill Is Gone and could well take the prize again this term with Split Second who disappointed somewhat when going off favourite for her debut at Chepstow but will have learnt a lot for that experience. Preference, however, is for the Sir Mark Prescott trained QUITE A THING as the trainer seems to have hit top form just at the right time. Dutch Art has a respectable record thus far as a stallion, most notably in the shape of Miss Work Of Art. Ida Inkley looks the best of the rest.
Split Second will likely come on plenty for her debut but this looks a good opportunity for one of the newcomers, with Quite A Thing preferred to Van Der Art.

It might be worth siding with RUNNING MATE here as the son of Acclamation appears to be well treated off a mark of 53 after finishing runner-up to Dashwood last time out at Kempton who has subsequently won twice since. There is no doubt that Miss Polly Plum is improving with every run and that would give her an each-way chance in this. Seb Sanders has been booked to ride Tymismoni for the first time which could be significant and while Commandingpresence must defy a 6lb penalty for a recent win. Emiratesdotcom must not be overlooked in an open contest.
Running Mate appeals most of those that are drawn near the rail, a big advantage on the turf course this year, and is preferred to Miss Polly Plum and Tymismoni.

While the form of Euroquip Boy is solid enough of late, it might be worth giving INTERAKT another chance as she is stepped back down to what looks to be her preferred 7f trip. Harry Bentley takes off a valuable 5lb for connections and she looks to have come back down to a winnable mark having been somewhat out of sorts recently. Durgan and Fedora could get competitive but the rest would need to improve to have realistic chances.
Fedora pulled clear with an unexposed one at Yarmouth on Wednesday, and her claims are pretty obvious from the same mark if her draw is no handicap. Durgan and Interakt are potential dangers.

Surwaki has been off the track for over two years but providing he has shaken off his problems, he would have a chance here on his best form. Kai Mook has run consistently in defeat but CLEVER OMNEYA will be fit following a creditable seasonal reappearance effort and the booking of Richard Hughes suggests big things are expected. Of the others, Kipchak was unlucky not to score over this C&D last time out and if that form is reproduced, he looks on a winnable mark.
The free-wheeling Kipchak ran right up to his best over 7f on turf here last time and can go one better, with Kai Mook and Clearing House others worth considering.

The form of BYRD IN HAND'S recent success was confirmed by Catchanova on Wednesday and this gives John Bridger's runner a great boost as he steps up in class here. OUTSMART'S chances here were done no harm at all when Yarmouth conquerer Mosaicist won at Kempton on Wednesday night. That form looks strong enough to suggest the Godolphin colt can take this prize but Top Diktat commands respect for the Sir Michael Stoute stable despite failing to score from three starts. He has run well in defeat and will be better for his recent reappearance. Gladys' Gal will have learnt a lot from her debut effort and cannot be overlooked for the in form Roger Varian while Arabian Heights could run into a place at a price.
Outsmart will be hard to beat if improving on his narrow defeat to a subsequent handicap winner at Yarmouth. Midnight Feast and Escape To Glory look the chief dangers.
