Granny McPhee is only 3lb higher than when scoring over 1m2f here at the May meeting but over this longer trip she may be vulnerable and the progressive TWEEDLEDRUM is preferred. Andrew Balding has his string in fine order at present and his lightly raced filly is taken to defy the 8lb rise handed out for her ready Chepstow victory last month. Rio's Rosanna and Bollin Dolly need to prove their stamina for the trip but are also considered.
Granny McPhee has had excuses since winning here at the May meeting and she can return to winning ways at the main expense of Rio's Rosanna and hat-trick seeking Tweedledrum.

David O'Meara's charge ran his best race to date when second at Beverley last time and just about sets the form standard on that effort. Richard Hannon's Shere Khan warrants respect, as does Dandy Nicholls' newcomer, Moss Vale gelding Prince Gabrial.
Shere Khan should have more to offer and can get off the mark at the third time of asking. Kool Henry and Miss Lahar are others to consider.

COOL MACAVITY won on debut at Lingfield and although held at Pontefract on his handicap bow last time, is expected to benefit from the return to this sharper, flatter track and gets the nod. Fred Willetts and Kingscroft are closely matched on their C&D running last month but the former has twice disappointed since and a bigger threat appears to come from the latter, would would be dangerous granted a soft lead.
Cool Macavity should win races off his current mark, but they are likely to be over further than this and he could be worth taking on with Fred Willetts who ran a cracker here last month.

Mark Johnston's charge has been held twice since but better is expected now returned to this sharp circuit. A first-time visor may perk up Bonfire Knight, who completes the shortlist.

GETCARTER caught the eye in an apprentices' race over 6f at Salisbury on Tuesday, staying on well in the closing stages behind a winner that has come out and franked the form since. The selection looked outpaced that day so is expected to relish this return to 7f. C&D winner Opus Maximus is capable of making his presence felt in this grade and merits consideration. along with recent Thirsk scorer Dream Catcher, who is favoured at the weights.
Getcarter shaped well behind an in-form rival earlier in the week and could prove the answer back over 7f. Kingswinford is interesting on his first run for Brian Ellison, while Dream Catcher can reach the frame, for all he is likely to prove best at 6f.

KENYAN CAT rattled the crossbar when a short-head second at Lingfield last time and a 1lb rise in the weights is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Spavento is another competitively handicapped and a big run at York on Friday would heighten the appeal of Eric Alston's charge. Very Well Red may be seen to best effect over a mile but has place claims over this longer trip if building upon her recent 1m2f Bath second.
Kenyan Cat has been in decent nick for her new yard this season and can get back to winning ways here. Beauchamp Xiara, Straversjoy and Very Well Red are others that should go well.
