ENDEAVOR took his number of Kelso victories to five when beating Push Me by a length and three-quarters over C&D last month and despite being hit with a 5lb rise, he remains well treated on his best form and is likely to give another good account off bottom weight. Sleep In First is another leading player arriving on the back of wins at Cartmel and Sedgefield, while Amilliontimes and Aficionado are just a couple more with claims in a competitive opener.

Amilliontimes doesn't have many miles on the clock and could follow up last month's Perth success. Endeavor and Sleep In First also both won last time and are expected to figure in a competitive handicap.

MR GALLIVANTER overcame a bad blunder three from home to score readily on his hurdling debut at Stratford in August and, open to any amount of improvement, he should be able to follow up under a penalty. Fillydelphia made a promising start to her jumping career when third behind subsequent winner Vosne Romanee at Cartmel and she should make her presence felt. The twice-placed Al Musheer is another to consider.

Watch out for: Fillydelphia (4)

Mr Gallivanter did well to overcome a bad blunder 3 out when scoring at Stratford in August and can make it 2 from 2 over hurdles. Fillydelphia makes more appeal than Al Musheer for the forecast.

BIG SOUND is possibly best forgiven his lacklustre performance at Cartmel, a unique course many don't handle, and having been in cracking form before that, he gets the nod. Shady Sadie wasn't beaten too far into third over 3m at Perth latest and she warrants plenty of respect off a light weight, while St Gregory has been fitted with first-time cheekpieces in a bid to recapture her best form.

Pat Griffin has saddled Maggio to win the last couple of runnings of this event and he appears to have another cracking chance with RARE BOB this time around. The 12-year-old is currently rated 18lb lower in this sphere than he is over fences (a Grade 1 winner in that sphere) and providing he's anywhere near peak fitness for his first outing in 352 days, he could prove a class above these rivals. His biggest dangers look to be Spirit Oscar and Landecker.

Foot The Bill is another switching things around after gamely landing a hurdle race at this venue 18 days ago and he can show up well, while Local Present has been fitted with an eye-shield (alongside his usual blinkers) for the first time in a bid to help him bounce back to form.

Foot The Bill and Sendiym are both recent winners over hurdles, and while the latter is clearly at the top of his game at present, the former may be the better option. Unlike Sendiym, Foot The Bill's stamina cannot be called into question and, racing from just a 1 lb higher mark than when last successful over these obstacles at Market Rasen last summer, he's preferred.
