Johnny McGeeney is very interesting on his debut for an in-form David Pipe stable, having won a decent Punchestown event when last seen in handicap company. However, that was back in 2011 and his three Flat outings this year have been nothing to write home about, so the safest option appears to be DEADLY STING. John Butler's five-year-old narrowly failed to follow up his maiden hurdle victory at Uttoxeter on his handicap bow over the same C&D a fortnight ago and, with further progress on the cards, a 4lb rise may not prevent him bouncing back. Triumphant let down favourite-backers at Plumpton but this is easier and the step back up in trip should help.

ROGUE DANCER has found form for his new stable this summer and was well supported to follow up his Uttoxeter win off 13lb higher at Market Rasen, but a mistake at the third-last proved costly and he had to settle for third. The fourth has won since, however, and this looks a good opportunity for Lawney Hill's charge to bounce back off the same mark, possibly at the main expense of Flemi Two Toes, a C&D winner who has slipped back to his last winning figure. The switch to a handicap may spark improvement from Abbeygrey.
